1. Start the PrinterUtility

Printer Utility is an integrated tool software that helps users query printer settings and status,

change printer-related settings, and send commands or files to the printer.

Double-click the Printer Utility icon Printer Utility.exe to launch this software.

3. Function Description

(1) Port Settings

At present, the USB、RS232 and Ethernet communication interface is provided.

1-1 USB Setting

After turning on the printer, click  USB in the communication interface, and the successfully

connected printer model will automatically appear in the drop-down menu below.

1-2 RS232 Setting

1. After turning on the printer, click  RS232 in the communication interface and select the

port from the drop-down menu below.

2. Click the Port Settings button in the communication interface, it will automatically bring

out the currently connected RS232 transmission channel setting information. You can set

the baud rate, data bits, parity check, stop bits, and flow control of the currently

connected RS232 transmission channel. Click the Set button to complete the RS232

settings to the printer.

1-3 Ethernet

1-3-1 main window

1. Port Settings=> Ethernet=>click the Search button=> the screen for searching the net

printer pops up.

2. You can get the IP address of the printer through the search function, and connect to the

printer through the IP to perform functions such as querying, setting, and sending

commands to the printer (same as USB / RS232 communication interface function).

1-3-2 Search net printer window

1. Click the Search button (wait three seconds), to search for network printers in different

network segments. Click the field of the printer to modify the settings to bring the

network settings data of the printer to the right setting screen .

※ When the search button is clicked for the first time, the security alert will pop up, please

select to allow access. If there is no security alert and the printer cannot be found, please

turn off this function or set an exception in accordance with each antivirus program, then

you can pass the antivirus program certification.

2. The setting screen on the right can set the printer's IP and other network connection data

of the printer. If DHCP  is turned on, the IP address / mask / gateway can only be read.

After setting, click the Set button to complete the net printer setting.

3. Click the Select button to bring the printer data back to the main window and close it.

Click the Exit button to close the search net printer window.

(2) Printer Information

After the printer is connected through the selected Port, click the Load Printer Info. button in

the printer information to get the current information about the printer, including: Printer

Model、Printer Serial Number、Kernel Version、Printer Status、Bootstrape Version、uBoot

Version、Printed Lengths、Printer Labels、Cutted Count、DPI.

Part of the information (Bootstrape Version、uBoot Version、Printed Lengths、Printer


Labels、Cutted Count、DPI) need to click more information and use the right scroll to pull
down to see all the information.

(3) Printer Configuration

3-1 Printer Setup

1. Click the Printer Configuration and Printer Setup to open and close the Printer Setup

screen.

2. Click the Load Button to bring out all Printer Setup information through the selected

communication interface. Click the Set button to write the setting value to the printer (please

execute the reading function before writing). Click the generic default button to initialize the

setting value.

3.Printer Setup field description:

Field name Function Description


Speed Set speed (1 ~ 15). When user needs to improve print quality or
use a resin ribbon, a lower speed is recommended.
Density Set density(0~15), determines the color of the printed content.
Wax ribbons can be set to lower density values, while resin
ribbons and polyester label can be set to higher density values.
Setting the density too high may cause the ribbon to break or
distort.
Thermal Mode Select the thermal mode according to the type of print media.
Direct thermal:No ribbon is used, and the print media used has
a thermally sensitive coating that darkens when heated.
Thermal Transfer:Use ribbon.
Label Type Select the label type.
Gap label:Use gap label.
Bline label:Use a label with a black mark on the label.
Continue label:The label that does not need the initial mark,
the sensor does not sense the label length, only monitors the
output condition of the label, and prints to the specified length.
Label Width Set label width.
Label Height Set label height.
Gap Distance Set gap distance.
Gap offset After setting the label gap distance, how much distance to move.
BLine Thickness When using BLine label, set the thickness of the BLine.
BLine FeedLen When using BLine label, set how much distance to move after
the thickness of the BLine.
Continue label Offset When using continue label, set the displacement of the continue
label.
Cover Close Select whether to feed paper automatically after closing the
printer cover.
Direction Set the direction for printing the label content. User can choose
the top or bottom output.

Field name Function Description
Mirror Choose whether to use mirror. If user choose Yes, the printed
pattern will be reversed.
X Offset Set the horizontal (left and right) position of the print content.
Y Offset Set the vertical (up and down) position of the print content.
Draw Reverse Sets whether to highlighted the print content.
After Print After printing, user can set the printer to perform actions:
Normal:Do nothing when printing is complete.
Tear Mode:After printing is finished, the gap of the label is
stopped at the tearing blade, so that the user can easily tear the
label.
Peel Mode:After printing, the paper is peeled through the
peeler. The user must remove the label before the printer prints
the next label.
Cut Mode:After printing is complete, the printer cuts the label.

On Demand If user set on demand, press the button once to print the label
once.
Cut Number Set how many sheets the printer can print before cutting.
Cut Action Set the printer to cut every label, by cut number or only last one.
Cut Mode Set the printer to cut the paper to full cut (full sheet cut) or
partial cut.
Gap Sensor Set the printer's sensor by label, see-through or reflective (for
Bline label).

3-2 Gap Sensor Setup

1. Click the  gap sensor setup and  gap sensor setup in the printer configuration to open

and close the gap sensor setup screen.

2. Click the Load button in the gap sensor setup to automatically bring up the setting

information of printer sensor. Click the Set button to write the setting value of the sensor

to the printer. Click the Gap Sensor Default button to initialize the setting value of the

sensor. The default values are see-through level(middle) and reflective level(middle).

3. In the gap sensor setup, user can set the level of see-through or reflective (manual, low,

middle, high).

4. when the see-through or reflective is switched to manual, the reader (weak, low, middle,

high) and the emitter (low, middle, high) can be set separately.

3-3 Ethernet Setup

1. Click Ethernet Setup and Ethernet Setup in the printer configuration to open and

close the Ethernet Setup screen.

2. Click the Load button to bring out the printer's network connection settings through the

selected communication interface.

3. Click the Set button to set the printer's Ethernet. Click the Ethernet Default button to

restore the Ethernet setting to the default value. Click the Enquiry IP address button to

query the current net printer's Ethernet IP address / mask / gateway settings.

※ When setting, if the communication interface is selected as Ethernet and the IP mode is

set to DHCP, an error will occur when the printer is set or read immediately; because the IP

has been changed to a floating IP instead of the original connection IP, so user should go to

the communication interface to search the printer again, and bring it back to the main

window to reconnect before you can normally perform the reading and setting functions of

the printer.

3-4 Setting File (Save and read the general settings of the printer)

1. In the printer configuration, click the Setting File and Setting File to open and close

the setting file screen.

2. Click the Save Settings button to save the values in the general settings field of the printer

in the SettingFile.gns file. The path of this file is the same as the PrintterUtility.exe program

directory.

3. In the setting file, click the Load Settings button, it will search the PrintterUtility.exe

program directory for the existence of the SettingFile.gns file, if there is, the settings

stored in the file will be brought to the printer in the set field.

(4) Printer Function

4-1 Factory Default

Click the Factory Default button in the printer function to restore the printer's settings to the

factory preset values.

The machine will restore the general settings, gap sensor, RS232, Ethernet, WIFI, Bluetooth

settings to the factory default.

4-2 Print Test Page

Click the Print Test Page button in the printer function, and the printer will automatically print

a preset label pattern.

4-3 RTC Setup

(5) Command Tool

5-1 Send Command

Send command function, provide the direct use to send the command string to the printer,

and no reply from the printer is required. After entering the commands in the editing area,

press the ENTER key on the PC keyboard once at the end of each line of commands and click

the Send Command button to send the command to the printer.

5-2 Send File

Click the Send File button to open the Select File window and select the file to be sent to the

printer. User can also send commands to the printer in this way.

(6) Unit Setting

1. User can set the printing unit to be used: dot, mm, cm, inch. When switching units, in the

printer setup, all the field values of the units used will be converted simultaneously.

2. Click the Converter button to bring up the unit conversion tool window, which is

convenient for the user to conduct the trial calculation of unit conversion at different

resolutions. After selecting the DPI (203dpi, 300dpi, 600dpi), enter the value to be

converted in the [From:] field, and set the initial unit (dot, mm, cm, inch), and then set the

converted unit below , Click the Convert button to start the unit conversion trial

calculation.

(7) Language

Currently, it supports switching between three languages, traditional Chinese, simplified

Chinese, and English (English will be opened by default when the program is opened).

(8) About

Click the About button to inquire about relevant information of this program.

Click the Exit button to close this program.
