Multivibrators

The document describes the design and operation of different types of multivibrators - astable, bistable, and monostable multivibrators. It provides the circuit diagrams and design calculations for configuring each multivibrator for specific applications. For astable multivibrators, it shows how to generate symmetrical and asymmetrical outputs as well as its use as a voltage controlled oscillator. For bistable multivibrators, it outlines the basic design. And for monostable multivibrators, it provides the calculations to generate a 0.5ms pulse width. Pre-lab and post-lab questions are also included to help understand the operation and applications of each multivibrator circuit.

TABULAR COLUMN

VBB Frequency

If VBB is varied, the time period of output T changes in accordance with the equation
T = 2RCln (1 + VCC=VBB). With a fixed value of VCC, it can be seen from the equation that
the output frequency of the circuit is nonlinear function of VBB.
