Remove/install floor covering Procedure (Ret. Figure 801) NOTE : Before you start, make sure that all items to which —— corrosion protection is to be applied have been inspected. Refer to applicable procedures and mak sure that any defective items have been fully corrected. (1) Job set-up (a) De-energize the aircraft de bus-bars (Ref. Chapter 24-00-00, paye block 201 ). (b) Put a warning sign in the flight compartment to tell persons: - DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER (c) Put warning signs at the entrances to the aircraft to tell persons: = FLOORBOARDS HAVE BEEN REMOVED (d) Remove the passenger seats (Ret. 25-20-05, page block 0201 ). (e) Remove the floor covering, as applicable, for access (Ref. 25-20020, page block 0201 J. (f) Remove the buffet/galley/refreshment unit. (g) Remove the toilet assembly. (h) Remove the floor panels, as applicable, for access. (i) Remove the floor covering, as applicable, for access. (2) Examine the seat rails 51-30-00 Page 802 Apr 15/07 Sexies 3200 MAINTENANCE MANUAL (b) Apply Alocrom conversion coating and epoxy primer to any bare metal. (c) Remove any damaged finish paint. Apply epoxy primer followed by finish paint. (3) Clean all surfaces to which the Corrosion preventive compound (AV15) is to be applied with isopropyl alcohol solvent . (4) Apply Corrosion preventive compound (AV15) NOTE : Refer to the instructions supplied by th —— manufacturer of the Corrosion preventive compound CAV15) (a) Apply masking to all areas on which Corrosion preventive compound (AV15) would cause damage, such as: - bearings (sealed and unsealed) = control cables - pulleys, etc. (b) Use a brush or spray to apply a thin continuous layer of Corrosion preventive compound (AV15) . Apply to all the surfaces of the seat rails. Also apply it to all the structural surfaces where corrosion could cause damage, such as: = the floor beams and support structure for the floor panels - the fuselage frames below floor Level = the fuselage skin between the frames below floor Level - the door closing members - the galley attachment feet - the toilet attachments. (c) Allow to dry for a minimum of 1 hour. (d) Visually inspect the layer of Corrosion preventive compound (AV15) . It should b: = continuous - of constant thickness 51-30-00 Page 803 Apr 15/07 JETSTREAM ‘Senies 3200 MAINTENANCE MANUAL - smooth = free from runs and pin holes. NOTE : It is not necessary to completely remove and —— re-apply the Corrosion preventive compound (AV15) at regular intervals. Dirt and other foreign matter can be removed with a cloth. Make the cloth moist with cold water. Any damage should be locally repaired with minimum increase to the thickness of the original layer of corrosion preventive compound. (5) Apply the sealant (PR1422B-1/2) to the joint between the floor support angles and the floor support flange of the frame. Allow the sealant to dry until it is not tacky. (6) Apply the Hi-Tak tape = to the seat rail flanges - to the top faces of the floor support structure to the door closing members. CAUTION - DO NOT LEAN ON THE TAPE WHEN YOU APPLY IT. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DISTURB THE TAPE WHEN YOU INSTALL THE FLOOR PANELS. NOTE : The release film on the other side stays on the tape so that the floor panel can be removed easily. (a) Install the tacky side to the structure and slowly go forward. Do not cause air bubbles. (b) Make sure that the tape has 2 good bond with the structure. (c) Use a punch to make a hole in the tape at the attachment holes for the floor panels. NOTE : The holes should allow the tape to stay —— undamaged while the attachment fasteners are installed. 51-30-00 Page 804 Apr 15/07 o2) (8) ae Sexies 3200 MAINTENANCE MANUAL (d) Use a sharp knife to cut off the unwanted tape Make sure that you do not damage the structure. NOTE : When you apply the tape to the surface, do —— not trim back the overhang but fold it under the surface. NOTE : Make sure that the tape extends fully across ——" the width of the surface. NOTE : If a number of Lengths of the tape connect, —— "the ends of the tapes should be touched together as near as possible. Clean the floor panels. Make sure all sealants and adhesives are removed. NOTE : If the floor panels are soft, refer to the applicable repair procedures. Install the floor panels removed for access. NOTE : When you install the floor panels, use the cate self-levelling green sealant to wet assemble the floor panel fasteners. In the passenger cabin, apply the self-levelling green sealant : = to the joints between the seat rails and the floor panels - to the joints between the floor panels - to the joints between the edges of the floor panels and the internal trim panels. (a) To apply the self-leveling green sealant + 1 Hold the dispensing gun with the mixing straw — vertical. Slowly pull the trigger of the dispensing gun until the mixing straw is full. 2 To fill the mixing element, hold the mixing straw vertical over a container. Slowly release the sealant until you cannot sce air bubbles in the mixing straw. 3 Apply the sealant quickly because it is designed to gel in less than ? minutes. A new 51-30-00 Page 805 Apr 15/07 JETSTREAM ‘Senies 3200 MAINTENANCE MANUAL mixing straw must be installed if the dispensing gun is left unused for any longer than 2 minutes. Discard the syringe if it has been removed from the original package for more than 24 hours. (b) To clean or re-use the syringe: 1 To release the plunger, push the trigger — release tab at the back of the gun and hold it jn place. Pull the plunger ac far back as possible. Release the trigger release tab. 2 Lift the syringe retainer to the unlocked position. Slide the syringe out of the dispensing gun. To discard the syringe refer to standard practice procedures. If the syringe is lo be re-used, leave the mixing straw in place to prevent moisture being absorbed. 4 To re-use the syringe, rotate the mixing straw a quarter turn counter-clockwise. Refer to standard practice procedures and remove and discard the mixing straw. 5 Use a clean cloth to remove any sealant from the dispensing gun. Make the cloth moist with an approved solvent. (10)In the baggage bay, apply the Thixoflex gray sealant : = to the joints between the floor panels - to the joints between the edges of the floor panels and the internal trim panels. NOTE : The procedures to apply and clean are the same —— "for both self-levelling green sealant and Thixoflex gray sealant . C11) FALL the seat rail track with sealant (Ref. Figure 801). (a) Install the passenger seats (Ref. 25-20-05, page block 0201 ) (b) It may be necessary to dam the ends of the seat 51-30-00 Page 806 Apr 15/07 Sexies 3200 MAINTENANCE MANUAL rail track with a suitable material to stop the flow of sealant. (c) Apply the self-levelling green sealant to the seat rail track between the seat track holes. (d) Install the seat track fillers before the sealant starts to get hard. Remove any unwanted sealant with a cloth NOTE : Allow the sealant to cure fully. Refer to ——" the instructions supplied by the manufacturer for sealant curing Limes (12) Close up (a) Apply the self-levelling green sealant to the mating surfaces of the attachments of the buffet/ galley/retreshment unit.
