Eligibility Criteria for Physiotherapy Entrance

Like many other undergraduate and postgraduate courses, candidates will
be asked to ensure that they qualify the necessary academic and
professional requirements to pursue the various courses in one of the many

Level Eligibility Criteria

 • Candidates should have cleared class 12 board
examinations.
For Diploma
Courses • Minimum Aggregate score of 45% or more shall
be obtained in qualifying exams, preferably in
PCB or PCM subjects.

• Candidates must have cleared Class 12 board

exams
For Undergraduate
Courses • Minimum Aggregate score of 50% or more
should be obtained in the qualifying exam, in
Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

• Candidates must have a valid BPT or equivalent

degree.
For Postgraduate
Course • Minimum Aggregate Score of 50% or more shall
be obtained in the qualifying exam. 

Physiotherapy Admission Process in India

In medical colleges and universities offering admissions to the various
physiotherapy courses on the basis of entrance test scores, there are two
possible selection processes that are commonly adopted. Here are the
Physiotherapy admission processes in India that are commonly followed in
different medical institutions.

• Counselling Based Admissions: This type of admission process is

usually opted by Universities with a large number of affiliated and
constituent colleges offering the same course. Under counselling based
admissions, candidates are called to select the course and college
based on the rank they secured in the entrance test and the vacancies
available for a particular course. Candidates are offered admission
based on merit lists and ranks secured in the merit lists.

• Merit-Based Admissions: Under Merit-based admissions, candidates

are asked to sit for an entrance test and based on their scores or ranks,
they are further shortlisted for the admission processes. This method is
opted by larger private Universities and colleges that have a limited
number of seats but receive a large number of applications on an
average. Here, entrance exams allow for shortlisting candidates for
other selection processes including personal interviews and/or group
discussions.
