How To Test A Protection Relay

This document provides instructions for using a Megger secondary test kit to test the protection functions of a GE relay. The methodology involves connecting test leads from the test kit to the relay and injecting current and voltage values. Protection functions like power swing detection, stator differential, overcurrent, unbalance, and undervoltage can then be tested by observing the relay's actual measured values and trip indications in response to injected values.

 Communicate with the relay through Enervista software as normal
 Communicate with the test kit through software as follows:

Double click on the Icon it will start opening the software

Then press OK when this message come.

Then press the computer button (highlighted) when this page open.

Then this message will come, wait until detecting the device
A message will come that the device has successfully detected.
