JCI –AN INTRODUCTION

JCI (Junior Chamber International) is a worldwide federation of young leaders and


entrepreneurs, having commenced globally in 1915 and in India in the year 1949.
Several hundred thousand young people in the age group of 18-40 years all over the
world have been associated with the organization as its members and have been
immensely benefited by the organization in developing leadership traits and quality
skills. JCI is having membership of around 2,00,000 across 120 countries.

JCI is a recognised partner of various organisations including United Nations,


International Chamber of Commerce, AIESAC, Nippon Foundation, ECOSOC, The Global
Compact, UNICEF, Kiwanis, Action Foundation etc.,

JCI INDIA AN INTRODUCTION

JCI India has been working for the development of young people in India for the past
60 years. JCI India is a Registered Society under the Indian Societies Registration Act,
1860, Mumbai Public Charities Act & also registered u/s 12A of the Income Tax Act,
1961 having a National Level NGO status. JCI India offers various leadership
opportunities to its members and Non-members across India.

It is currently having its activity in more than 26 States and Union Territories across
India and its members are commonly known as “Jaycees”. JCI India is having
1200 Local organizations in and around 500 towns and cities in India with its 45000+
members.

The Administrative expenses of JCI India is raised by way of an annual membership


subscription. The Turnover of JCI India is about 7 crores on the Direct Projects and
administrative expenses.

for 4 cr+ worth CSR Projects in 2022 &


1.50 cr worth CSR projects in 2021.
We have supplied Medical kits and grocery kits from
Kanyakumari to Imphal to Himachal Pradesh to Kerala, all over
India thorugh our strong network of Local organizations in
every state and cities.

JCI INDIA SCHOLARSHIP

JCI India has been conducting many programs to reach the youth of the country
especially in Schools & Colleges. One of such program is the Scholarship program,
through which JCI India is providing financial aid to the needy and under privileged
School student across the country. Since last 16 years, JCI India is helping needy
children of rural places, in their education.

Scholarship program was started initially by over helping 500 children every year with
Gradually the number of students increased to 1000 every year. In 2022, we could give
scholarship to 3096 needy students from rural India

A panel of judges scrutinize the scholarship applications and select the deserving needy
students.

The scholarship is given to the needy students in all states of India. Maharashtra,
Kerala, Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Assam, Madhyapradesh, West Bengal…students
of all these states got benefitted.
