Key aspects of Aviation industry before internet
Before the widespread use of the internet, aviation operated quite differently, relying on
traditional communication and manual processes. Here are some key aspects of aviation
industry before internet facility:
The aviation sector has seen a substantial transformation as a result of the internet and
digital technology, becoming more effective, linked, and accessible. A few examples of
how the internet has transformed aviation include online reservation systems, digital flight
planning tools, real-time weather updates, electronic ticketing, and in-flight Wi-Fi. These
developments have raised operating effectiveness, safety, and all-around passenger
satisfaction.
➢ Develop a comprehensive business plan outlining the airline's vision, target market,
routes, fleet plan, revenue model, and financial projections.
➢ Establish a legal entity for the airline, such as a corporation or limited liability
company (LLC), and register it with the appropriate government authorities.
➢ Secure sufficient capital and financing to cover start-up costs, aircraft acquisition,
operational expenses, and a contingency fund.
➢ Select and acquire suitable aircraft for the airline's business model and routes.
➢ Apply for and obtain an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the aviation regulatory
authority to verify compliance with safety and operational standards.
➢ Obtain adequate insurance coverage, including liability insurance and coverage for the
aircraft and passengers.
➢ Plan the airline's route network and apply for necessary slots at airports for take-off
and landing.
➢ Recruit and hire qualified personnel, including flight crew, cabin crew, maintenance
staff, ground handling, and administrative personnel.
➢ Develop and implement a Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure safe and
compliant operations.
➢ Comply with all applicable aviation regulations, including safety, security,
environmental, and labor regulations.
➢ Arrange for ground handling services, airport facilities, and other necessary
infrastructure for the airline's operations.
➢ Develop a strong brand identity and marketing strategy to attract customers and
promote the airline's services.
➢ Invest in the necessary aviation software and technology for flight planning,
reservations, maintenance tracking, and other operational aspects.
➢ Ensure that the flight and cabin crew receive proper training and certification as
required by aviation authorities.
Aviation Software
Airlines, airports, and FBOs (fixed-base operators) including taxi companies, cafes, and other
airport service providers receive operational support from aviation software. It helps with fleet
management for airlines. This programme includes a wide range of automation for front
desks, sales/service, maintenance, and airport staff. Products frequently use their services to
fund the entire airline sales, labour, and maintenance. Software used by airlines are as
follows:
1. Flight planning software
Flight planning software is used to plan and track flights. This software can help airlines to
optimize their routes, avoid bad weather, and comply with regulations.
Sabre Aircentre, AirMap, Jeppesen Flight Planning, Lido Flight Planning, ForeFlight and
FlightBridge.
AirFASE, XpressA, Q-Pulse, ProFlight, FDM Insight, Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) systems
8. Air Traffic Management Software
For air traffic control and coordination, airlines rely on air traffic management software,
which interfaces with air traffic control centers and helps ensure safe and efficient airspace
utilization.
ITA CNS/ATM Suite, Evolved Strategic Air Traffic Management System (E-STARS),
Eurocontrol's ATM System, Adacel Aurora.
SKYport Suite, Amadeus Airport Sequence Manager, and Amadeus Turnaround Management.
