UNIVERSITY OF LA SALETTE INCORPORATED

First Semester Final Exam S.Y. 21-22
GINST001: Transformative Education Through Critical Approach
(Francis Liwanag-Instructor)

TEST I.

A. (Knowledge and comprehension) Based on the current situation of Philippine

Politics and particularly of the coming May 2022 elections, come up with a
relevant question that elicits a positive response regarding our political situation.
(i.e. Who do you think is the presidential candidate that can provide timely
solutions for climate change?)

- For these reasons, I believe Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. is the presidential
candidate who can provide timely solutions to climate change. For me, he knows it
because he nailed some science-related questions in his interviews. He can come
up with some solutions for me. As far as I can tell, he is the one who is concerned
about our environment. Finally, he is the one who thinks about climate change
solutions.

B. (Application and Analysis) What are the evidences that your chosen
presidential candidate can provide solution to the given problem?

- These are the proofs that Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. is the only one who
can solve the problem. First, we have already seen his project in their province,
those windmills around them, so we can assume he is interested in science and the
environment because he provides solutions for his townmates' electricity. Second,
he stated that he would like us to contribute in our own ways, such as global efforts
to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other activities that harm our environment.
Third, as a Senator last 2016, he considered the effects of climate change in the
planning and implementation of almost all government programs. Finally, he raised
issues in the Senate about how government infrastructure projects should be
formulated and implemented to lessen the effects of natural disasters caused by
climate change.

C. (Synthesis and Evaluation) What are the criteria you are willing to suggest
to be able to make a sound decision in choosing the right presidential candidate?

- These are the criteria I will propose in order to make an informed decision in
selecting the right presidential candidate. First and foremost, he or she must be
eligible to run for president. Second, he or she can excel in all aspects of life, not just
where he or she works. Third, he/she has a genuine desire to advance in the
Philippines. Finally, he or she may be able to be real and flexible all of the time
because what we need is a President who will listen to all of our life's complaints.
