Given the following: sugar, salt, mongo seeds,
powdered juice, cooking oil, vinegar, predict which among these will dissolve
in a cup of water. Write your prediction in column 2 of table 1 provided in the
activity sheet.
Activity 3: What are the properties of solutions?
C. EXPLORE
1. Put one cup of water in each of the cups.
2. Add ½ teaspoon of each of the six samples. Use the teaspoon to dissolve
as much of each sample as possible. Use a different teaspoon for each of
the cups.
4.Filter the mixture with filter paper. In the absence of filter paper, you may
use katsa or old, white T-shirt with the improvised funnel from plastic bottle.
