University IT 8003: Cloud Computing Dr. Amy Tidwell October 24, 2021 2 Cloud Computing Solution for
the Private Jet Reservation System Today every organization is striving to achieve scalability,
sustainability, Integrity, and high performance, while developing and delivering various products to
customers. To attain the flexibility and the profitability, the company must develop the applications, by
utilizing the most dynamic and the agile approach i.e., adopting the cloud-computing solution.
Accessibility of the software from any-where and any-time, less cost over head, growth flexibility, high
durability, immediate recoverability etc., are some of the advantages offered today by the cloud
computing technologies, as per the research published by the (Salesforce, 2020). As part of this paper,
we will be introducing the small startup called Stellar Labs, its major business operations and then we
would discuss more about the strategic, tactical and the implementation tasks, taken up by the different
teams of the company, to successfully utilize the cloud-computing solutions. Stellar Labs The Stellar labs
organization is a small start-up, based in Redwood city, California, which was established, back in 2014.
The company initially comprised of only 40-50 people, but today thanks to many profitable business
deals taken up the teams, it has grown into full fledged organization with over 200 employees, working
across different countries like the Canada, the Ukraine etc. Our company mainly handles the
development of software applications, that enable our customers to book private charter flights and fly
from different origins to different destinations, across the world. Until now, the company is completely
using On-Premises model of infrastructure, where in the hardware like application servers, the database
servers, the routers etc., are bought in and maintained by our organization. 3 As the company was
initially a small start-up, the requirements are very less, so maintaining the on-premises infrastructure
did not seem much challenging then, but today as the number of requirements are increasing, the
number of customers are increasing, there is a necessity for our organization to expand the software
and hardware accordingly, to fulfill these needs, which can be accomplished by using the cloud-
computing solutions. Team Structure Basing on the type of cloud services provider selected, the number
of phases involved to migrate our on-premises infrastructure to cloud based platform varies. But in
general, as per the article published by the (O’Sullivan, 2021), the cloud adoption process comprises of 3
stages mainly• The Business Strategy- In this phase, the organization must analyze the different business
aspects like- the vision, goals, the constraints, or limitations etc., to understand the value additions and
benefits gained by the company, if it plans to adopt and implement the cloud-computing strategy. The
current CEO of the company, Ms. Manasa Sreevani Channagiri, along with 4 other board of directors,
has formed small team, to design the best strategy, that can help the organization to gain the
competitive advantage over the other companies. • The Technology Strategy- In this phase, the
organization focuses on understanding the current cloud trends, understand the pluses and minuses of
each of them and then designing the technology road map. The road map, helps the organization to
understand the cloud migration plan in depth, the different technologies to pick and implement in each
stage etc. This phase is currently being led by our Engineering Director, Ms. 4 Anupreet Kaur. There are
at least 20 teams, comprising of a total of 300 employees, who are working to design and implement the
technical strategy phase. • The Sales and Marketing Strategy- In this phase, the organization focuses on
utilizing the different analytical tools provided by the cloud service providers to understand the sales
patterns and deliver the quality products to the customers. Currently our Sales and Marketing director,
Ms. Sai Divya Kolakaluri, is supervising at least 10 teams, comprising total of 100 employees, to come up
with the best marketing strategy that exposes our products to customers, in the best way possible.
Conclusion In this paper, we have investigated the on-premises infrastructure of the company, the
necessity for the company to adopt cloud solutions to accommodate the increasing customer
requirements and the various phases or stages that the company must go through to successfully
migrate to the cloud platform. We have also presented the details of different teams that would be
working on different phases of the cloud migration process, to efficiently deliver the products to the
customers. 5 References O’Sullivan, K. (2021, June 8). The Knowledge Compass. Knowledge Compass.
