HENERAL LUNA

Heneral Luna is a 2015 Filipino historical film portrays the life of General Antonio
during the Philippine American-War. It is indeed one of the most amazing and beautiful
movie I watched. It is the highest- grossing Filipino film at all times due to the
performance of John Aracilla as Heneral Luna and other cast’s realistic performance.
This is really an eye-opener for all Filipino especially for the Filipino people who were
controlled and dictated. Heneral Luna is the leadership of the Philippine Revolutionary
Army during the Philippine American-War. Moreover, creating films that signifies history
also made me convinced that Heneral Luna is a Top movie because it is very rare
today that the history is being revived in order for the new generation to see how much
sacrifice were experienced in the past. Why did I say Heneral Luna is a Top movie?
Because for me it feels like I am not watching a movie. Instead, it feels like I am
watching a slice of the Philippine history in the past.

The first time I watched the General Luna film, it really got my attention right away
because of the great and beautiful story. In addition even the attention of other
Filipinos. Heneral Luna is such a great movie. This movie indicate love, care, courage,
and freedom in the country it also evokes the life and sacrifice of the Filipinos during the
Filipino American-War. In the war many soldiers gave their lives to protect, to defend,
and to raised our nations in the will of Americans want to own our country. In the first
cabinet meeting in the province of Bulacan where members of the elite debate on
whether or not to trust the presence of American force in the country, most of them
believe that the Americans have good intentions. However, the statement released by
the General Luna's that he asked Aguinaldo’s cabinet "negosyo o kalayaan" "bayan o
sarili? Mamili ka!" aroused my feelings. And I am sure that if Heneral Luna is asked the
same question he asked Aguinaldo’s, I am sure that he will choose the nation because
of his truth love for nations. The general is already fed up from hearing negotiations for
peace with the United States, thus made him shouts "Para kayong mga birhen na
naniniwala sa pag-ibig ng isang puta!" sometimes we just let ourselves be fooled
even though we know our enemies are fools. The scene at the train station where the
American was arrested, he said to the American “Inglesh-Inglesh-in mo’ko sa bayan ko?

Punyeta!” because it shows that we should not enslave our own country. It is ours, we
own it, we will not use it and no other alien country should be superior to our own. At the
same time Heneral Luna spoke the statement “Mayroon tayong mas malaking kaaway
kaysa mga Americano. Ang ating sarili”. This line indicates what we stand for ourselves.
Heneral Luna movie shows the truth in the past how the Americans wanted to possess
the nation where the fighting of the armies. A Heneral Luna's heroism will be greatly
appreciated and will not be forgotten for its heroism. A Heneral Luna who is ready to
give his life fighting until his last breath just for the peace of our country. A Heneral Luna
that is wholeheartedly served the whole country. The film shows how politicians and
certain people with high positions used their names, positions, and power to bend the
rules in their favor.
