My Instructional Materials

This learning episode will enable me to explore the wonders and


significance of instructional materials to enrich the teaching-learning
process. I will experience preparing instructional materials for my
instruction to further demonstrate my creativity and resourcefulness as a
future teacher. I will also grab the opportunity to take snapshots of varied
instructional materials used by my colleagues and other teachers in my
cooperating school.

My Directions

To reach my targets, I need to:

P Repare the materials needed.

D esign the instructional materials.

C reate using cost-effective materials.


My Tasks

I will go to the library and interview the librarian on what instructional

materials used in my cooperating schools.

These are the different instructional materials available in my cooperating

school.

Print materials: Books, Textbooks, Student Learning Modules, Activity

sheets, fact sheets and worksheets

Non-Print Materials: Laboratory apparatus, realia, globe, solar system

model, and abacus

Electronic Materials: Digital music, pictures and graphics, TV, speaker,

laptop, and computer

In the table below I will list all the instructional materials I used in all the

lessons conducted in my classroom.

My Analysis

In preparing my instructional materials, I realized that:

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS MUST BE REALISTIC, HANDY, AND

EFFECTIVE SO THE STUDENTS WILL HAVE A BETTER KNOWLEDGE AND


IT CAN ENHANCE THEIR SKILLS AND ABILITIES. INSTRUCTIONAL

MATERIALS IS VERY USEFUL AS IT IS THE SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE

WHERE THE STUDENTS CAN DISCOVER, READ, AND UNDERSTAND

FACTS THAT CAN CONTRIBUTES TO THEIR LEARNING. I

I NEED TO PREPARE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS SO THAT I WILL BE

PREPARED AND READY ALWAYS IN MY TEACHING DEMONSTRATION.

My Narrative of Experience

Making of the assessment tools is a very challenging part of being a


teacher. You will construct test to test or to measure your student learning and
knowledge. You will be a time-consuming part but an amazing task for me. I
enjoy making assessment tools because I am not only making but also learning
it is very nice in the feeling that without reading your lessons you will be able to
construct the questions and the choices. As a teacher your knowledge and
ability will be measured on how you are good at familiarizing your lesson
content.

Furthermore, the usual assessment tool that I made in the school is the
summative test. Summative test is used to measure the knowledge of the
students every end of the lesson. The summative test will be your guide to
know where the part of your lesson is that the students have difficulty. When I
am making the summative test I consider and follow, apply the HOTS questions
just like what my cooperating teacher said.

In addition, I love making assessment tool just like the summative test
because it will measure my knowledge about the content of my lesson. Making
the summative can enhance my learning about the lessons content and
concept and it can give deeper understanding.
My Reflections

In here, I will ask my cooperating teacher to rate my instructional

materials I prepared in the classroom. I will use this scale in rating my

instructional materials.

After analyzing my score sheet, I realized that my instructional materials

that I used are effective in the learning and development of the students. I can

observe their changes when it comes to participating and cooperating the class

discussion. Using various instructional materials in class discussions is very

important as it can motivate students to engage in different activities and

performances. Furthermore, it is very significant to combine the tree types of

instructional materials to have a better understanding and learning experience of

the students.
