The learner demonstrates understanding of: Southeast Asian
literature as mirror to a shared heritage ; coping strategies in
processing textual information; strategies in examining features
of a listening and viewing material; structural analysis of
words and propaganda techniques; and grammatical signals for
Content Standard opinion- making, persuasion, and emphasis.
The learner demonstrates understanding of the importance of
achieving unity and coherence in paragraphs. It will guide them
on how to properly follow the writer’s thought as they will be
directed to different signals or expressions that would tell the
relationship of sentences.

The learner will be introduced to various patterns of paragraph


Performance Standard development which will determine the essential role of
grammatical signals in a certain paragraph or text.

At the end of 45 minutes of class discussion, 90 percent of the


Grade 8 section Narra students are expected to:

a. Use of appropriate grammatical signals or expressions suitable


to various patterns of paragraph development.
