Topic 3: Geometry Worksheet

Question 1
A triangle piece of land that is used for back yard form has sides AB= 12 m, AC = 17 m, and angle
ABC = 90o. Sketch a diagram of the shape and determine the:
a) missing side
b) missing angles
c) perimeter
d) Area

Question 2
A triangle piece of land that is used for back yard form has sides AB= 12 m, AC = 17 m, and angle
ABC = 30o. Sketch a diagram of the shape and determine the:
a) missing side
b) missing angles
c) perimeter
d) Area

Question 3
A triangle has sides AB= 13 m, BC = 9 m, and angle BAC = 60o. Sketch a diagram of the shape
and determine the:
a) missing side
b) missing angles
c) perimeter
d) Area

Question 3
A diagram below represents a gate with a hole. Given that AB= AC = 14 m and the hole is centered
in the quadrilateral shape with a radius of 2 m. Determine the:
a) Area of the shaded region
b) Volume of the gate with a thickness of 0.25 m.

Question 4
a) Figure 2 below represents a test tube of length 7.5 cm and diameter 1.7 cm. Determine the
maximum volume of liquid that should be poured into test tube, if the height of the liquid
should not exceed 15 cm as a margin of safety.
b) Given that the maximum volume of liquid is poured into a cuboid with a base of 4 cm by 1.5
cm. Determine the minimum heigh of the cuboid.
c) IF the maximum volume of liquid is poured into a cube instead of a cuboid, determine the
length of the cube.

maximum volume of liquid that should be stored in the cuboid if the height of the liquid
should not exceed 7 cm as a margin of safety.
b) Given that the maximum volume of liquid is poured into a cylinder of length 10 cm.
Determine the radius of the cylinder.
