The teacher will present a picture of Corona Virus. The class will share ideas about
the picture. Then the teacher will group their statement and classify according to
facts or Opinion.

Lesson Proper

A. Activity 1- Getting to Know You.


The class will work by pair. They will write 5 things such as name, age, birthday in
“What I know” column. Then write 5 impressions about him/her such as attitude,
personality, etc. Use T- Chart to accomplish the activity. Do this activity in 5 minutes
afterwards they will present their output.

B. Analysis
Activity 2: “Step in Step Out”
Ask the student to stand. Tell them to “Step Forward” if the statement is a
Fact and “Step backward” if the Statement is an opinion. Stay in place if the
learner is unsure of the statement.

C. Abstraction
The teacher discusses the lesson.

FACT – It refers to something that is true and can be verified as such. A fact is
something that can be proven true. It is verifiable, can be proven and objective.

Example: Square and rectangle are quadrilaterals.

OPINION – It refers to a personal belief. It relates to how someone feels about


something. Others may agree or disagree with an opinion. But they cannot prove or
disprove. It is unverifiable, cannot be proven, and subjective.

Example: Solving Algebra is easy to understand.

Essential Question: Why is it important to distinguish the difference between


facts and opinion?

D. Application
The class will be grouped into five. The teacher will show a picture. Using this
picture, the students will compose 1 paragraph of their experiences about having
pets.
The output will be rated using the rubrics below.

Assessment

The teacher reads a passage. The students will answer the activity after.

Jack lives in a small town an hour away from Panabo City. He doesn’t like going to the city because
he always passed by a very long bumpy road. He knew that whenever they passed that gut-twisting
road, they are already in Manay, which is closer to the city. Panabo City is a great place to be. The
only mall there, the Gaisano Mall allows people to shop without spending much money. There is also
the night market, bustling every night with people, either selling food and Ukay-ukay or people
buying cheap stuff by the street. There are also many school in Panabo City, like the Panabo
National High School, a Public school Jack aims to enroll when he reaches Senior High School.
However, the constant traffic is one of the major problem in the city and intense heat constantly
makes him sweat to the bone. All in all, Jack thinks he would better in live in the country side than to
stay longer in the city.
