Course Description : This course introduces students to the various approaches to the study of non-literary
texts using various theories in Stylistics as framework for analysis. Hence the
explanatory power of stylistics can also help students to understand in more depth
the ways in which style of texts can help to influence the perceptions of
readers in more everyday situation, such as studying informational texts responding to
advertisements, examining the different languages of non-literary texts like journalistic
writing, technical reports and so on.
