NARRATIVE REPORT
BRIGADA ESKWELA KICK-OFF 2023
THEME: BAYANIHAN PARA SA MATATAG NA PAARALAN

“Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan”, this years Brigada Eskwela theme that advocates
on the spirit of volunteerism and bayanihan among all aspects in the society; parents,
stakeholders, LGU, private individuals and generous Samaritans in the community. The purpose
is to make the school ready for the coming opening of classes.

Tibagan Elementary School conducted a Kick-Off Ceremony to take part in the celebration of
BRIGADA ESKWELA 2023 spearheaded by school principal, Ma’am Dolores O. Gatuz,
together with our Brigada Committee Members headed by our Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Sir
Jeff Carlos Zafra.

The ceremony was held at Tibagan ES court on August 14, 2023. The said ceremony started at
exactly 2:00 in the afternoon and everyone was encouraged to attend. The program began with
the singing of the National Hymn conducted by Ma’am Leticia D. Galvez followed by a prayer
led by Ma’am Nida D. Gutierrez. As for the opening remarks, Ma’am Dolores O. Gatuz, the
school principal, humbly delivered her speech and welcomed everyone warmly. She gave
emphasis on the objectives Brigada Eskwela: the Bayanihan spirit as it fosters oneness and
cooperation among all stakeholders to make the school a safe and conducive place for learning
all the children.

The ceremony was also graced by the presence of the City Mayor Francis Albert G. Juan, Vice
Mayor Martin Angeles, City Councilor Marie Nina Nikki Perez, Barangay Captain Rodolfo S.
Gervacio, Barangay Council on Education, Barangay Councils Odona S. Galvez and Nestor G.
Galvez Florante Santos. Unexpected donations were also appreciated from these generous public
servants.

After that, Ma’am Tess Gargarito presented the different stakeholders and participants from
different organizations such as the following: YES – O Officers, ALERT officers, SEL-G
Officers, BHW, TRUEPA, General PTA, and OFW.

Ma’am Evelyn Obaob also took her part in the program to encourage everyone to participate in
the said Brigada Eskwela. She likened every human work with a piece of machinery that would
not function without it being a whole or if it is not complete.

After the ceremony, the different organizations dispersed in cleaning the school campus, doing
minor repairs, painting and decluttering.

The Brigada Eskwela 2023 Kick-Off was a success because of the collaboration and
participation of everyone in the community.
