Annexure-I REPORT
CLIENT’S REQUIREMENTS
The unconfined compression test is usually used for measurement of an undrained strength of
cohesive soil because of the simplicity of the test technique. This test, however, is inapplicable
for such specimens as crack clay, very solid clay, and clayey soil which contains extra fraction of
sand. The unconfined compression test provides a measure of the undrained strength and stress-
strain characteristics of undisturbed, remoulded, and/or compacted cohesive soil samples.

Bore Hole No.01: In bore hole NO. 01, The Soil encountered at 10ft was CL, lean clay,
the classification of soil changes at 13ft to 15ft depth to Lean Clay with Gravel, the PI of
the soil remained medium plastic in range as per USCS Classification chart. the
percentage of gravel was found was in range of (0.0%-29%) and the percentage of sand
was found in range of (7.7 to 9.2%) while the percentages of fines ranges from (63.3% to
91.8%)
Ground Water table was encountered at 1.5ft below the ground level.
Static ground water level was found at 11ft below the ground level
SPT N-values were found increasing with the drilling depth of borehole
Bore Hole NO. 02 : In bore hole no.02 CL, clay was encountered up to 23ft depth,
followed by the CL, lean clay with gravel higher depth, The percentage of gravel was
found in range of (1.1- 11.5%), sand content range between (4.5 and 4.8 %) while up to
94.5% fines are found with medium in plastic in nature as per USCS plasticity chart.
The penetration resistance (N value) was found increasing with the drilling depth of the
bore hole, Bearing capacity from SPT blow counts have been calculated using Meyerhof’s
Static ground water level was found at 11ft below the ground level
iii. It is advisable to provide a compacted filter layer of gravel/shingle of depth not less than
18 inch under foundation, gravel size should not be greater the 02inches
iv. It is emphasized that the recommended bearing capacity pertains to the depths from
