2.1 Troubleshooting . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 18
WARNING
Certain components inside the units are under high voltage!
If there is contact with these components, it can cause damage, serious bodily in‐
jury or death.
Do not open the monitor housing; this is not necessary in a service situation.
WARNING
A damaged power cable can lead to fire or electric shock!
If these components are operated with a damaged power cable, it can cause dam‐
age, serious bodily injury or death.
Use only power cables that are in good condition! When disconnecting the
power line, hold the power cable only by the connector.
WARNING
If objects are inserted into the housing, this can cause electrical shock.
This can cause damage to the unit, to other damage, serious bodily injury or
death.
Do not insert objects into the housing!
After finishing the repair but before turning the system over to the customer, complete
the measurement of the protective earth resistance (ground connection) for every com‐
ponent where the grounding wire was removed. This measurement must be performed
in accordance with the IEC 62353 requirements. Document the measurement in the
service report for future reference.
n On indicator:
The "On" status is shown via the Pow‐
er LED, see Pos. 2.
Two different levels of brightness
may be set for the LED via the OSD
menu. The system is "dimmed" when
shipped.
n Ambient light sensor:
An ambient light sensor (brightness
adaptation relative to the ambient
brightness) is present, see Pos. 4. It
can be configured in the OSD menu.
1 2 3 4
The connector panel is located under the 5
base; in other words, the base must be 7
6
removed to gain access to the connec‐
tions.
8
The power switch, Pos. 6, is also accessi‐
ble through the base. It is located on the

n A laptop is not required for adjustment. All adjustments can be performed in an "on-
screen menu" (OSD), accessible using the pushbuttons (front of frame).
n The TFT monitor can be controlled with BAS (Synch. on green) at the D-Sup input.
n OSD operating menu:
- In the OSD menu, under < Others => Status >, the firmware version, the serial num‐
ber as well as the timing that is currently configured and the operating hours can be
read out.
n Video norm:
- The display detects the applied video norm and automatically sets itself to it.
- "New” norms not yet set (VESA standard), can (must) be set. The next time this
norm is applied, the display automatically sets itself to the norm.
- There is separate set of parameters in the display for each norm.
This means that each norm used must be set individually.
Exception: The backlight setting (max. brightness) has only one register; this means
that all norms are displayed at the same max. contrast.
n Backlight:
- The backlight is automatically adjusted.
This means that the maximum contrast that is set is retained to the control maxi‐
mum.
The control maximum is achieved when the value 255 is displayed in the OSD Menu
+> Service Level 2 +> Calibration for Backlight command.
A lower value indicates that the control is not yet at stop.
Analog Inputs:
Adapters are not included in the shipment.
n BAS Signal:
Via a 15-pin Sub-D connector (female).
- Video Level: 0.5 .... 1.0 Vpp
- Synch. Level: 0,2 ..... 0.3 Vpp
n RGB, H/C synch and V synch.
Via a 15-pin Sub-D connector (female).
n Analog via DVI -I input (DVI -I connector)
n Timings:
The timings are stored in the FW for all applications released for
Med (AX).
It is also possible to store "new” timings (conforming to the VESA
standard); these must be adjusted (if necessary). When saved, they
are placed in the background and when recalled are displayed cor‐
rectly automatically.
A maximum of 10 "customer-specific” timings can be adjusted.
Starting with the 11th timing, the "oldest” is deleted.
Ambient Light The ambient light sensor is located at the top left of the front panel as
Sensor viewed from the front.
When the ambient light sensor is switched on, the max. brightness of
the ambient light is compensated.
Climate Transport (in original packaging):
Ambient temperature: -20 to + 60˚C; temperature gradient <5˚C/h
Relative humidity max. 75% at +25˚C, no condensation.
Air pressure 1060 to 600 hPa
Operation:
Ambient temperature: + 5 to + 40˚C; temperature gradient <5˚C/h
Relative humidity max. 75% at +25˚C, no condensation.
Air pressure 1060 to 600 hPa
Installation Heat dissipation is achieved by "natural" convection; a fan is not instal‐
led.
The free setup height as well as the side and rear distance must be at
least 100 mm.
However, installation in the DCS is permitted.
n
For replacement part numbers, see the SPC (Spare Parts Catalogue).
Every defective display must be returned with an exact description of the error. With‐
out this error description, it is virtually impossible to find sporadic and/or tempera‐
ture-related errors as well as system-related causes.
n After mechanical installation, see ( Replacing the TFT Monitor / Page 21), every
display also has to be adjusted to the system, see ( AX / XP system-related Installa‐
tion / Settings / Page 32)
n Self-adjustment:
While the display is - 0 -, see illustra‐
tion, the measurement instrument
must be on a mat (darkening of the
measurement input)!
n Switch on by pressing the On/Off but‐ Fig. 5: SMFit Spot Luminance Meter 1
ton, see Pos. 1.
n When the self-adjustment is finished,
a measurement value and the mode,
see Pos. 3, are displayed.
n The measurement instrument must
be set to direct measurement (mode
"D") for the monitor adjustment.
The mode, see Pos. 3, is set by briefly
pressing the On/Off switch, see Pos.

2.1 Troubleshooting
n General:
Every defective TFT monitor can be replaced only completely.
The replacement monitor is always shipped without a base; in other words, if used
with the table, the existing base must be used again.
Fuses are not replaced if a fuse is defective; the monitor must be replaced. A fuse re‐
sponds only if an error (in the monitor) is present; because of this, replacing a fuse is
not reasonable.
n Troubleshooting:
A plug-in fiber-optic connector is used for the Fig. 7: DVI - fiber-optic cable converter (plugga‐
ble)
monitor trolley (see photograph).
The converter (item 1) and the fiber-optic ca‐
ble (item 2) can be used as a replacement. 3
If you suspect a problem in the video cables,
you can switch the fiber-optic cable from 2
monitor 1 to monitor 2 to isolate the error.
Note:
Even if there is only one monitor on the trol‐ 1
ley, there are always two cables in the corru‐
gated hose (cable feed to the trolley).
If there is a replacement or if troubleshooting
is performed, make sure the individual fiber-
optic cables (1 - 4) pay attention to the con‐
verter inputs (1 - 4). (1) DVI - fiber-optic cable converter
(2) Fiber-optic transmission lines (4x)
(3) Converter power supply
For information about replacing the TFT monitor in a SIREMOBIL Compact L or ARCADIS
system, refer to ( Replacement / Page 111) or ( Replacement / Page 118).
In a spare parts situation, only the TFT monitor or base (in the case of table application)
may be ordered as a spare part.
Two different screw lengths are used, see Fig. 8: DSB 1906/1908, monitor base delivery condi‐
tions
figure.
The monitor will be destroyed if the long
screws are used with the monitor base.
n Pos. 1 (short screws)
May only be used with the monitor
base (table application).
The screws are included in the deliv‐
ery volume for the monitor base.
n Pos. 2 (long screws)
These may only be used with the DCS
or monitor trolley.
In this application the cover is used,
see ( 1/Fig. 13 Page 25). This is
why the longer screws are required.
Only the screws from the monitor
that was removed may be used. De‐
pending on the option, different
screw lengths can be used.
(1) used for monitor base only
A screw that is too long can destroy (2) used for DCS or monitor trolley only
the monitor!
IMPORTANT:
The screws delivered with the monitor
may not be used; instead, use the "old"
screws to secure at the base, see ( Gen‐
eral information / Page 21).
n Re-install the base in reverse order.
n Re-insert the back panel (snap in, see
figure).
The replacement monitor is connected in the same manner as the defective monitor that
is being replaced.
IMPORTANT: Different spacer adapters are used, (monitor <=> DCS) depending on the
application. During replacement, the screws that were used previously absolutely must
be used again. If replaced, the monitor can be destroyed if the mounting screws are too
long!
(1) Cover
(2) 2 screws (securing cover)
n Open the cover for the electrical connectors and disconnect all connectors, see Pos.
1.
n CAUTION, the monitor tilts forward!
Remove the 4 screws on the VESA adapter (connection from the monitor to the DCS).
n Pull the monitor forward and out of the DCS.
n Install the replacement motor in the reverse order.
Fig. 18: DSB 1906/1908 (DCS 2)
IMPORTANT:
- If the monitor is the Live A monitor Fig. 21: Artis VC xx triax cable connection
or the Reference A monitor with
the Voice Control option:
The video cable, which is present
only with this configuration, must
be grounded by means of ground‐
ing clamp, see
( 1/Fig. 21 Page 29).
Control using a CAT cable: Fig. 24: DSB 1906/1908 (video connection)
n The adapter (network cable to DVI) is
provided with a "contact rubber", see
Pos. 3.
This contact ensures safe shielding for
the adapter housing.
Ensure that the contact is secure, see
Pos. 3.
n Attach the monitor to the trolley
base, see ( 1/Fig. 22 Page 30).
n Depending on the application, the
monitor has to be adjusted, see (1) Adapter (network cable to DVI)
(2) Network cable

4.2.1 General
n If used in systems with the Syngo platform, make sure that when selecting the test
images, the "window values” are fully opened!
n Adjustments may be performed only after a warm-up time of 20 minutes.
n The control buttons must be blocked again following installation.
n If two video norms are used on the display (e.g. emergency mode), then both video
norms must be set!
Exception: The backlight setting (maximum contrast) is not "norm-dependent”. As a
result, it is the same for both norms!
n The adjustments for brightness / contrast are made using the SMFit test meter.
For operation see ( Test and Auxiliary Equipment / Page 12)
When performing the measurement, make sure that the measuring sensor does not
exert any pressure on the panel surface. Otherwise, panel damage cannot be ruled
out!
- Open the OSD menu (1) > select Auto functions (1) > open with Up (2) >
Select Auto Brightness Control (1) > set to “Off” (2), the lighted dot corresponds to
selected >
Select Auto Position Phase Frequency (1) > set to “On” (2) >
“ Select Execute select auto function” (1) > the auto-adjust starts with Up (2).
- If you expect the on-screen display will still be incorrect, you can set it manually:
OSD Menu => Size / Position
IMPORTANT!
If the DVI connector is unplugged while the system is switched on, images will not be
displayed again when the connector is plugged back in!
This effect is specific to the Fluorospot Compact. Interrupting the connection switches
off the graphics card.
The FLC has to be rebooted for the graphics card to be switched again to DVI.
If the monitor is switched off and then on using the power switch (back left), the DVI
output of the graphics card is retained.

Adjustment
Only (!) the backlight controller can be adjusted, see the following adjustment!
Due to the digital control, all other settings are performed at the factory and may not be
changed! If brightness or contrast is changed, other "gray steps" are lost (i.e., image in‐
formation).
n General:
- SMFit test instrument: Switching on and Configuration, see ( Test and Auxiliary
Equipment / Page 12).
- Check of the window value: The window must be opened completely, FM 2048 / FB
4094.
- The mouse pointer may not be inside the measurement field during the measure‐
ment!
- If the tolerance values are not maintained, magnify the measuring field, move it to
the center of the image and repeat the measurement (differences in brightness can
occur over the panel surface).
n The ambient light sensor must be switched off for the measurement of luminance:
If the OSD menu is blocked, open it with: Set (4) 1x and Up (2) 3x.
Open the OSD menu (1) => select Others (1) => Open (2) => select the ALS/DPMS
setting (1) (beginning with FW 1.03 only as the ALS setting) => Open (2) => select
Ambient light Sensor (ALS) (1) => set to "Off" (2), Off is active when the dot lights
up.
n Go back 2 steps with Set (4) 2x.
n Backlight Adjustment:
n Open the “LCD test pattern“, Fig. 44: LCD test pattern (2% field)
n Select zoom (display the full image). Fig. 45: LCD test pattern, 2% field
n Continue with the ambient light sensor adjustment, ( Adjusting the Ambient
Light Sensor / Page 41)!
n Further procedure:
a) If the currently adjusted monitor is the Live monitor (A) in the examination room
(and only this one!), the emergency mode must be configured and adjusted; con‐
tinue with ( Adjustment of Emergency Mode / Page 54).
b) If the currently adjusted monitor is the Ref monitor in the examination room and
the Voice Control option is being used (only if Voice Control is used), continue
with ( Adjusting Voice Control / Page 61).
c) If the currently adjusted monitor is neither the one listed under a and b, the ad‐
justment is finished.
The conrol buttons must be blocked, press Set (4) 1x and Up (2) 3x.
The adjustment is finished.
n "Only" one image is displayed on the Live monitor in the examination room in the
emergency mode. All other monitors no longer display an image!
n The emergency mode must and may be adjusted only at this monitors (Live in the
examination room).
n The emergency mode must be configured on the monitor. In this way, it is ensured
that when an analog signal is present (emgerncy mode), a switch is made automati‐
cally to the emergency mode.
n Control in an emergency situation is analog (D-Sub) using one of the analog BNC ca‐
bles from the RTC.
Normal control is digital (DVI-D).
The DCS Live monitor (examination Fig. 48: Emergency mode control
room) is defined as the emergency moni‐ 2 1
tor in the Artis VCxx SW.
This requires a D-Sub/VGA connection in
addition to the DVI connection, see the il‐
lustration; an analog video signal is sent
out via this connection during emergen‐
cy mode (and only in the emergency
mode).
If the emergency mode is configured in
the monitor and an analog signal is
present at the D-Sub input, the monitor
always switches to this input, regardless (1) D-Sub input / BNC D-Sub adapter
of whether or not a DVI signal is present! (2) DVI input
Problem: If the emergency mode is configured, the OSD menu can no longer be selec‐
ted (only with the emergency mode norm)!
This means that the adjustment must take place prior to the emergency mode configura‐
tion.
The following instructions must be followed, otherwise it is possible that the bypass
function will not function or will function with reduced IQ.
Conditions:
Artis xx:
The emergency mode adjustment can only be performed beginning with Artis SW VC13.
Prior to this, the test image is displayed only "weakly" and cannot be used for the adjust‐
ment!
WARNING
Switching the Live monitor (A) to emergency mode does not take place or take
place with a delay.
The system goes into emergency mode, an image is not visible on the Live moni‐
tor or is visible only with a delay.
The following instructions regarding configuration / adjustment of the moni‐
tor emergency mode must be observed.
a) If the SMPTE test pattern is not visible, the monitor input must be switched man‐
ually.
- Press the Up (2) key (OSD is off), the monitor switches in the input (to D-Sub,
analog input), the SMPTE test pattern must be visible.
4. Perform the monitor adjustment for the emegency mode.
1. IMPORTANT:
The backlight control may not be changed; it was adjusted in "normal mode" and can
be adjusted only once.
2. Depending on the system SW, the image position of the test pattern is not 100% cen‐
tered; ignore this, the X-ray display is centered.
3. The brightness of the test pattern is okay only with Artis SW VC13.
With Artis zee VC12 SW, adjustment of the brightness cannot be performed.
However the following configuration must be made!
Adjusting Brightness/Contrast:
With Artis zee VC12 SW, skip the B/C ad‐
justment and the phase/frequency set‐
ting.
