like to divide the cakes among her children so that each child
gets the same amount. How many cakes would each child
get?

2. Julian is writing a comic book. His story has 143 frames in all. If
he wants to put exactly 11 frames on each page, how many
pages would he have?

3. Jesse’s white wall is 13 feet long. He wants to cover the top of


the wall with posters. His posters are two feet wide. How many
posters can he fit on the wall? How much white space is left
over?

4. There are 5 people on the Green Bay High track team. If a relay
race is 150 meters long, and all 5 team members participate,
how far will each team member have to run?

5. It takes 4 feet of cotton to make a tee-shirt. How many tee-shirts


can be made with 60 feet of material?

Answers

1. 18 ÷ 3 = 6
Each child gets 6 cakes.

2. 143 ÷ 11 = 13
Julian will have 13 pages.

3. 13 ÷ 2 = 6 remainder 1
Jesse can fit 6 posters on the wall; one foot of wall will be uncovered.

4. 150 ÷ 5 = 30
Each track team member will have to run 30 meters.

5. 60 ÷ 4 = 15
15 tee-shirts can be made from 60 feet of cotton.
