1. The Meaning of Structure in a Paragraph
The structure paragraph is composed of a topic sentence (or key
sentence), relevant supporting sentences, and a closing (or
transition) sentence. This structure is key to keeping your
paragraph focused on the main idea and creating a clear and
concise image.

- Give closure to the paregraph
The meaning of Topic Sententence, Supporting Sentences and Concluding Sentence
• Topic Sentence
Topic Sentence a sentence that states the main thought of a paragraph or of a larger unit of
discourse and is usually placed at or near the beginning.

• Supporting Sentences
The supporting sentences, also called the body of the paragraph, are used to support, explain,
illustrate, or provide evidence for the idea expressed in the topic sentence.

• Concluding Sentence
The concluding sentence is the last sentence in a paragraph. Its job is to summarize the
main idea of the paragraph. If the paragraph is part of an essay, the concluding sentence also
transitions to the next paragraph.

1. The Paragraph Support and Development
The Paragraph development is a progresses with the expression of some type of
support or evidence for the idea and the explanation that came before it.
2. Writing Concluding Sentences
Writing Concluding Sentences is, probably, the least complicated task in writing a paragraph.
Concluding sentences, so-called terminators, restate the idea of the topic sentence.

Is possible, they should summarize the paragraph in such a way so as to expose the relevance of
supporting arguments in the context of the topic sentence.

Writing Concluding sentence is, of course, very different from writing transition sentence.

Concluding Sentence
Peer editing is defined as the use of learners as the source of
information. In peer editing, the students or learners would take the
role of the teacher or tutor in order to check and to comment on a
piece of work produced by another student or learner.
What is the Purpose of an Introduction ?
The Purpose of an Introduction is :
• Introduce your topic
• Create Interest
• Provide necessary background knowledge
• Proview the rest of your essay
• States the main point ( the thesis sratement of the essay )
• Give the general topic of the essay
• Is usually five to ten sentences...
What information is in an introduction?
The information in introduction is the first
paragraph/section of an essay, and it plays
an important role in writing an effective
paper. The introduction allows the writer
to begin the essay by gaining readers'
attention, providing necessary background
information, and by establishing the essay's
main idea, purpose, and direction.
The purpose of a conclusion is to summarise the main points
of your essay. It is your last opportunity to bring together
what you have been saying, and to make your opinion, and
your understanding of the topic, very clear to your examiner.

Writing Conclusions is your conclusion is your chance to


have the last word on the subject. The conclusion allows you
to have the final say on the issues you have raised in your
paper, to synthesize your thoughts, to demonstrate the
importance of your ideas, and to propel your reader to a new
view of the subject.
