Ied 136 Sectional View Worksheet

This document provides instructions for an activity worksheet on creating sectional views from multiview drawings. Students are asked to study drawings that include sectional views and add missing cutting plane lines, object lines, and section lines to accurately represent the internal structure exposed by the theoretical cut. The activity aims to teach how to interpret and construct sectional views that reveal internal design details.

3. Study the multiview drawing shown in Figure 9. This multiview includes Section A-A in the
position that a right-side view would normally be shown.
a. Add a cutting plane line along the line of symmetry on the right-side view that
corresponds to Section A-A.
b. Add the missing object lines in the sectional view to represent the visible edges if
looking at the sliced object in the direction of the arrows on the cutting plane line. Use
the thin construction lines for guidance.
c. Add section lines to the sectional view to indicate the surface(s) created by slicing the
object at the cutting plane.
