Job Description:

- Students will have the opportunity to take a deep dive into healthcare, work closely with medical
faculty and senior experts at a world-leading clinical research institute, and co-author a research paper.
- He/ She will be expected to, but not limited to: - Undertake data-driven project work as an intern with a
high degree of responsibility and independence;
- Conduct research within SERI in line with its research strategy and under the direction and supervision
of the Principal Investigators and Collaborators
- Actively participate in these research projects in a team-based, cross-functional research environment.

convenience in early eye disease detection.

My Working Experience:

Throughout my working experiences, I have had the opportunity to contribute to two significant
projects. In the first half of the year, I played a crucial role in the COVID wastewater monitoring
project, where my responsibilities included centrifuging water samples sourced from Southeast Asia
and meticulously logging the data for each sample. Additionally, I identified a more efficient
approach by creating a new system using Excel to calculate the precise amount of chemicals required
for the concentrated water samples. This not only saved valuable time but also significantly improved
convenience compared to the traditional manual calculations and recording methods that were
previously employed.

After the successful completion of the first project, I transitioned to the second half of the year where
the focus shifted to detecting the presence of new chemical compounds using lab-grown human cells.
In this endeavor, I actively contributed by skillfully passaging the human cells with the utmost
precision, ensuring the right ratios were maintained throughout the process.

Overall, these experiences have not only allowed me to acquire valuable technical skills but have also
reinforced my commitment to innovative problem-solving and efficiency. I am incredibly proud to
have been part of these projects, and I am eager to apply the knowledge and expertise gained to future
endeavors in the field.

I am extremely enthusiastic to apply this internship that can develop innovative healthcare solutions
that leverage advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.

And what excites me most about this position is the chance to contribute my programming skills to
the creation of advanced healthcare solutions. The prospect of being part of the team that aims to
make a real impact in people’s lives through these advancements fills me with great joy and
motivations.

exciting field, I have taken the initiative to enroll in a compressive deep learning course on Udemy.
Besides that, my positive attitude fuels my enthusiasm for embracing challenged and overcoming
obstacles in my learning journey, pusfhing me to reach new heights and contribute to my new found
expertise to innovative healthcare solutions.

My Weakness:

During the previous working experience, I discovers that one area I could improve upon is decision-
making guided by my values. While I strive to make ethical choices, I sometimes find it challenging
to consistently align my decision with my core values. To address this weakness, I have practiced
making decision that align my values and have evaluated the outcomes to identify what works well
and what could be improves. This process of self-assessment has been instrumental in recognizing
areas where I can further align my actions with my beliefs.

From my perspective, it's inevitable to have conflicts in a team, because different people have
different mindset, and distinct work style, thus when encountering this situation, i need to:

1. Always remind myself not to speak when im in negative emotion

2. Calm down, then try to put myself into his shoes

3. Listen to him closely before expressing myself

4. In this case, I believe we can have a nice and effective discussion without quarelling
