Trouble Shooting v3 Interfaces

Step 1. Connect to the internet.

Step 2. Make sure the switch is on the RIGHT HAND SIDE POSITION.
Connect the Interface to the USB cable and the USB Cable to a computer. Do not
connect the Interface to a bench harness or bike harness.

Step 3. Do you see a single green light on the Interface? If Yes move to Step 8.

Step 4a. If No Green Light and you have a USB Interface go to Question 8.

Step 4b. If No Green light, and you have a Log Box disconnect the Log Box and remove
the SD Card, go to Question 5.

Step 5. Connect the Log Box. Do you see a single green light on the Log Box? If Yes, then
it may be a faulty SD card. In this case, format the SD card to a FAT32 file or replace the
SD card, move to Step 8.

Step 6. If you still do not have a green light, please try another USB Port, USB Cable or
computer.
Step 7. Do you see a single green light on the Log Box? Either way, please continue to
Step 8.

Step 8. Do you see the Interface in Devices and Printers? If no continue, If Yes, please
continue to Step 10.

Step 9a. Open Device Manager. If the device does not appear in Windows "Device
Manager", does it appear as "Unknown Device"?

Step 9b. If you can see it in "Device Manager", please try right clicking on it and select
"Uninstall Device". Then, remove the USB cable and reboot your computer.
Once the computer is restarted, plug back in and see if it has now installed
correctly.
Step 10. Open WRT software and go to the SETTINGS Tab.

Step 11. Does the connected Device show in the COM Port? Either way, please continue
to Step 12.
Step 12. In the WRT Software, with the interface connected to the computer only, click
on the “Tools” drop-down menu, then click on “Device Configuration”.
Step 13. Move the switch on the device to the LEFT HAND POSITION and click on “Re-
install Firmware”. Carefully follow the on screen prompts.

Sometimes you may need to Reset the Device firmware if a Re-Install is not successful:

Once update is complete, move the Switch back to the RIGHT HAND POSITION.
Step 14. If still unsuccessful, please perform an interface TEST.

Select which interface you want to Test, DO NOT just press Test Interface.

Notes:
1. We find some programs can have an effect on the WRT program especially Anti Virus
Software.
2. Report a full document back to the Support Centre as this will help with resolving the
issue quickly.
3. Older versions of Windows 7 and 8 can also cause comminication issues with K-v3 and
M-Duc interfaces.
