EVENT OVERVIEW

Background

Islamic social finance has an important role in the development of


islamic economics in Indonesia. Islamic social finance
encompasses various instruments like Zakat (charity), Waqf
(endowment), and Sadaqah (voluntary charity) designed to
address social and economic inequalities. The green economy is
centered on sustainability, resource efficiency, and reducing
environmental impact. It aims to transition from traditional,
resource-intensive practices to eco-friendly ones. The integration of
digital technology, including blockchain,fintech, and mobile
banking, into financial systems, enables more efficient, transparent,
and inclusive financial services.

Islamic Economics Winter Course 2023 aims to be an international
discussion forum which gathers many professionals, academicians,
and society about the current condition of digitalization in Islamic
social finance. This can be a forum to enlarge the knowledge and
networking simultaneously for all participants. This event will be
held for eight days, which consist of eight days for online class
sessions.

Islamic Economics Winter Course is an international event which is


annually held by the Department of Islamic Economics, Faculty of
Economics and Management, IPB University. This program has been
conducted regularly every year since 2019 and attended by more
than hundreds participants from all over the world.

Participant Objective
Islamic Economics Winter Course enables you to take advantage of
renowned practitioners and experts in Islamic Economics. This
Intensive eight-day program provides an opportunity for you to
enhance and develop your knowledge and skills in the practice of
Islamic Economics. It will also provide you with extensive networking
opportunities. This course is intended for :

Academicians, researchers, financial industrialists, and

Undergraduate and postgraduate students
Islamic philanthropist
Those who already working in the sector who wish to advance

this activity (min. 1 person from each country)
Maximum performance time is 7 minutes*
Offerings can be in the form of poetry, songs, presentations,
or anything that shows the culture of the country
