What is writing?
Writing is a means of making-sense,
“How can I tell what I think till I see what I say?”
Why learning writing?

Writing is a means of communication

Writing is a means of communicating with others, when the listeners are not in front of the speakers,
listening to the speakers’ words, and looking at the speakers’ gestures and facial expressions.

Writing is not a simple transformation from speech to writing

Writing is not simply speech written down on a paper.

Writing demands several standards

Spoken language has dialect variations but written language generally demands standard forms of
grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.
