Simple Gerunds and Infinitives


Let's have a look at how gerunds and infinitives are used after some common
verbs. Here are two examples:
Like: to show hobbies by: to show methods

We can use a gerund (v) + ing or a to-infinitive (to +v) after the verb 'like'.
We use a gerund (v) +ing after the preposition 'by'.
