The Influence of Work Immersion Program

This research proposal examines the influence of work immersion programs on the career readiness of grade 12 students. Work immersion programs provide students with hands-on, practical experience in professional settings related to their fields of interest. These programs aim to develop students' work skills and boost their employability. The proposal seeks to understand how specific aspects of work immersion programs contribute to career readiness in areas like problem-solving, communication, and understanding career goals. While previous research found participation in such programs positively relates to career readiness, more investigation is needed to assess the long-term impacts on students' career trajectories. The study will evaluate grade 12 students, an ideal time to assess career readiness programs' effects.

CHAPTER 1
Backround Of The Study
Immersion is the increasing complexity of career choices and the evolving

demands of the global job market, ensuring that students are adequately prepared for

their future careers has become a top priority in education, and gives opportunity for

students to gain more knowledge and give experience to students in a professional

environment.

According to (Permejo, M. M. ,2020) The learner’s work place proficiency and

skill, in order to have opportunity to give them practical job experience in real work

environment that will help them to develop new skills, talent, become engaged in

business world, and boost their employability

Career readiness is the process of giving students of any age the fundamental

knowledge and abilities they need to locate, secure, maintain, and advance within a job.

According to (Abel N. R., Oliver B. 2018) The initiatives to increase K–12

students' preparedness for college are led by school counselors.

These programs offer students the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on

experience in a professional setting related to their field of interest. Grade 12, often

considered a critical juncture in a student's educational journey, is an ideal time to

assess the impact of such programs on their career readines The concept of career

readiness encompasses a range of skills and attributes, including problem-solving,

communication, teamwork, adaptability, and a clear understanding of one's career

goals. These skills are crucial for students as they prepare to enter the competitive job

market or pursue further education.

(Smith et al., 2020) has suggested a positive relationship between participation

in Work Immersion Programs and enhanced career readiness among high school

students. However, there is a need for further investigation to understand the specific

aspects of WIP that contribute to career readiness and to assess the long-term impact

of such programs on students' career trajectories.
