**Lesson Title:** Introduction to Simple Past Tense

**Objective:** To understand what the simple past tense is and why we use it in English.

**Lesson Plan:**

**Step 1: Introduction (10 minutes)**


- Begin by writing a sentence on the board: "I played with my friends yesterday."
- Ask the students if they can identify the action in the sentence (playing).
- Explain that today you will learn about a special way of talking about actions that happened in
the past.

**Step 2: What is Simple Past Tense? (10 minutes)**


- Write "Simple Past Tense" on the board and underline it.
- Explain that the simple past tense is a way we talk about things that happened in the past.
- Use a simple sentence like "I ate pizza for dinner" as an example.
- Emphasize that when we use the simple past tense, it means the action already happened
and is not happening now.

**Step 3: Why Do We Use Simple Past Tense? (15 minutes)**
