Factors Between Gender Equality and Women`s rights
I chose Gender Equality and Women`s rights as my topic because women, non-binary and trans
people are confronted by discrimination and inequality. They face violence, abuse and unequal
treatment at home, at work, at school and in their wider communities. Women`s are denied to have an
opportunities to learn, to earn and to lead because of the discrimination. Governments and social
institutions increasingly treat women and LGBTQIA+ people unfairly and in a biased way. They have
fewer resources, less power and less influence compared to men, and can experience further inequality
because of their class, ethnicity and the age. The majority of these people are living in poverty who are
mistreated because of their gender and they are discriminated because of their sexual orientation, race,
disability, income, and occupation, as a result of a wider gender and racial gaps.
People are not treated equally on the basis of gender, the treatment may arise from distinctions
regarding Biology, Psychology, or cultural norms prevalent in the society. Some of these distinctions are
empirically grounded, while others appear to be social constructs. While current policies around the
world causes inequality among individuals, it is women who are most affected. Gender inequality
weakens women in many areas such as health, education and business life. Studies show the different
experiences of genders across many domains including education, life expectancy, personality, interest,
family life, careers and political affiliation. Gender inequality is experience differently across different
cultures and also affects non binary people.
Benefits of Gender equality and Women`s rights
1. Women, girls, and LGBTQIA+ people can realize their full rights, including rights that impact their
sexual and reproductive health.
2. Violence against women, girls, and non-binary people is eliminated and protection offered during and
after shocks and crises when the risk of discrimination, exploitation and abuse is heightened.
3. Policies and practices protect the equal rights of women, girls, and members of the LGBTQIA+
community and all those who suffer discrimination based on gender or sex.
4. Women and members of the queer community are in leadership positions across different sectors
with equal recognition to men and in equal numbers. They are shaping public policy, including decision
making on peace and security.
5. Feminist activists, organizations, and movements grow in strength. They lead equally, safely and freely
in both online and offline spaces, exposing how patriarchal practices interact with other forms of
inequality, and protected from violent anti-rights backlash.
Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, also half of its potential.
Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies,
with full human potential and sustainable development. Moreover, it has been shown that empowering
women spurs productivity and economic growth.
Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go to achieve full equality of rights and opportunities between
men and women, warns Women. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to end the multiple forms of
gender violence and secure equal access to quality education and health, economic resources and
participation in political life for both women and girls and men and boys. It is also essential to achieve
equal opportunities in access to employment and to positions of leadership and decision-making at all
levels.

Gender inequality is one of the oldest and most pervasive forms of inequality. For centuries it has
caused discrimination and exclusion of women, non-binary and trans people from social, political, and
economic life. It has also blocked women from leadership roles and has led to increasing gender-based
violence. The Covid-19 pandemic has made this situation worse. Structural inequality has increased as
well. Specifically, governments and social institutions increasingly treat women and LGBTQIA+ people
unfairly and in a biased way. Intersecting inequality has worsened too.
Gender equality gives everyone equal opportunities
Education is the key to equal opportunities. In today’s world, more boys than girls are
educated. According to UNICEF, around 1 in 4 girls between 15-19 years old don’t have a job and are not
getting an education or training. For boys, that ratio is 1 in 10. Right from the beginning, this gives boys
better opportunities than girls. Without many options, girls are often forced into marriages or human
trafficking. It is also much harder to leave dangerous relationships and situations without education to
fall back on. When gender equality starts with education, everyone has the opportunity to improve their
lives.

Gender equality: it’s good for everyone

improves business and the economy. While it will be some time before gender equality is a reality
around the world, we’ve made enough progress to see its benefits in action. The goal now is to keep
promoting gender equality while replacing old systems based on discrimination and outdated mindsets.
The biggest problem we’re facing is that a lot of people still see gender inequality as a women’s
issue. However, by gender, we refer to all genders including male, female, transgender and others. When
we empower all genders especially the marginalized ones, they can lead their lives freely. Moreover, gender
inequality results in not letting people speak their minds. Ultimately, it hampers their future and
compromises it. History is proof that fighting gender inequality has resulted in stable and safe societies. Due
to gender inequality, we have a gender pay gap. Similarly, it also exposes certain genders to violence and
discrimination. In addition, they also get objectified and receive socioeconomic inequality. All of this
ultimately results in severe anxiety, depression and even low self-esteem. Therefore, we must all recognize
that gender inequality harms genders of all kinds. We must work collectively to stop these long-lasting

won’t resolve within a few days. Similarly, achieving the goal of equality is also not going to be an easy one.
We must start by breaking it down and allow it time to go away. Firstly, we must focus on eradicating this

from their childhood. Similarly, it is essential to ensure that they hold on to the very same beliefs till they
turn old. We must show them how sports are not gender-biased. Further, we must promote equality in the
fields of labour. For instance, some people believe that women cannot do certain jobs like men. However,
that is not the case. We can also get celebrities on board to promote and implant the idea of equality in
people’s brains. All in all, humanity needs men and women to continue. Thus, inequality will get us nowhere.
