1.Requirement of automotive MEMS devices
For the development of micro-electromechanical systems, the automobile sector has been a
key driving market segment (MEMS). The manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP),
developed by a number of businesses in the mid-80s, was the first MEMS application in the
automotive industry. There are some stringent restrictions for automotive use. It is
anticipated that the product would be of great quality and dependability. Performance is
vital, but the most significant need is probably cost (system cost).
2. Synthesis and design of MEMS device for automotive applications
Vehicle Dynamic

Control Vehicle dynamic control (VDC) are systems which help in controlling automobiles in
the event of skidding. These systems are also called as Electronic Stability Control (ESC),
Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Vehicle Stability Assist
(VSA), or Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). The VDC system consists of a very low-g
accelerometer, which determines the sliding, gyroscope which is used to compare the yaw
or turn rate and the sensors for wheel speed at each of the wheelsto determine the speed of
the vehicle. I 2

Challenges associated with switching time, bandwidth, size and execution time.
Switching time: The MEMS switch's switching speed is determined by two factors: (1) the
diaphragm's natural frequencies that are not dampened, and (2) the squeeze-film damping effects.
The structural damping caused by internal stress and the material's hysteresis are not taken into
account. The typical times of these two speed-limiting phenomena are discussed in the next two
subsections
executions time: Execution time of MEMS devices are better when compared to larger devices due
to there nano parts and proximity to each other.
conclusions.
Vehicle Dynamic Control [VDC]system is the best way to monitor the automotive systems. Due
to its small size in nature and low power requirement the MEMS devices are the best approach
to the manufacturing of vehicle dynamic control system. As they are the brains of the whole
vehicle further security and reliability issues have to be solved in the MEMS devices before
there adoption for mass usage and compulsory application in automotive industry

The State of Nanorobotics in Medicine

Critical review of the state of the art

A nanomachine, also called a nanite, is a mechanical or electromechanical device
whose dimensions are measured in nanometers (millionths of a millimeter, or units of
10 -9 meter). Nanomachines are largely in the research-and-development phase, but
some primitive devices have been tested. An example is a sensor having a switch
approximately 1.5 nanometers across, capable of counting specific molecules in a
chemical sample. The first useful applications of nanomachines will likely be in
medical technology, where they could be used to identify pathogens and toxins from
samples of body fluid. Another potential application is the detection of toxic
chemicals, and the measurement of their concentrations, in the environment.

Part B
The limitations of the existing design, in terms of materials, cost and
performance metric.
Nano-machines are new in the field of science, research and designing in the field is still in progress.
Most nano-machines are being in prototype stage. Nano-machines are so new that it’s still
dangerousto use it in direct contact with surrounding of humans or in open environment. New
manufacturing technologies bring with them new processes, materials, and, in many cases, new
environmental and safety issues. The introduction of nanotechnology has resulted in the pollution
of trillions of minute plastic particles in the oceans, waterways, and even human bodies; the long- 9
term consequences of these particles are unknown.

Suggest new techniques and ideas that can be integrated on the design.
Because nano-machiness are so small, doing microscopic and macroscopic tasks would almost
certainly necessitate a vast number of them working together. In the natural environment, these
nano-machines swarms, both those that are incapable of reproduction and those that are capable
of uncontrolled replication. The phrase "nanobot" (sometimes "nanite," "nanogene," or "nanoant")
refers to the technical idea of nano-machiness in an informal or even derogatory way. In the
nonfictional context of serious engineering studies, the term nano-machines is the correct technical
term.
