The document discusses the components and evolution of computers. It explains that a computer requires a combination of hardware, software, and user input to function. The hardware includes internal components like the motherboard and CPU, as well as external devices like the monitor and keyboard. Software is divided into operating systems and applications. Over time, computers have become smaller and more powerful due to technological advancements like transistors and integrated circuits. A supercomputer differs from a regular computer in that it uses parallel processing to solve highly complex problems very quickly by splitting them into multiple pieces to work on simultaneously.

Nowadays, almost everyone has a computer. Without it, it's hard to imagine today's life, in the digital age.

But
not everyone knows what the computer itself consists of, and how it works. So, what is a computer actually?

To begin with, accomplishing a task using a computer requires a combination of hardware, software, and
input. In terms of hardware, there are various devices involved, such as the computer itself, the monitor, keyboard,
printer, mouse, and speakers. Furthermore, inside your computer, you can find more bits of hardware, including the
motherboard, which houses the main processing chips that make up the central processing unit.

Once the hardware has been established, the computer software takes over, processing the commands it receives
from computer software and performing calculations. Software can be divided into two types: operating system
software, such as the Windows for a PC, and application software.

Finally, the user provides the input, which tells the computer what to do. This input can be as simple as entering a
command or clicking on an icon. Thus, the combination of these three components enables us to achieve our desired
outcome using a computer.

First, you provide input when you turn on the computer. Then the system software tells the CPU to start up
certain programs and to turn on some hardware devices so that they are ready for more input from you. The next
step happens when you choose a program you want to use. You click on the icon or enter a command to start the
program. After that, a program opens that will perform certain actions.

Obviously one of the great inventions of our time has been the computer. While the first computers were
extremely large and took up entire rooms, today, computers are extremely small and can easily fit on your desktop.
Throughout the years, the computer has evolved from a cumbersome and slow device to a smart and quick machines
with incredible processing power.

Konrad Zuse is credited with inventing the computer through the creation of the first freely programmable
mechanical computing device. His innovation addressed the challenge of completing large calculations and keeping
track of multiple results. Zuse's device included a memory to store results at each step, a crucial component that
remains vital in modern computing.

I have a computer and a laptop. I bought a computer recently, and it was my most expensive purchase. The
computer unit itself is small, a small 24-inch monitor, cool headphones, keyboard and mouse. My computer is
enough to program heavy programs, play new games and watch movies in very high quality. Overall, I am happy
with my computer.

The development of transistors and integrated circuits revolutionized computers, allowing them to pack
immense power into tiny chips. By constructing a room-sized computer filled with these advanced components, we
achieve a supercomputer capable of crunching the most complex scientific problems.

It should be said how a computer works - it is a general-purpose machine that takes in information by input,
stores and processes it, and then generates some kind of output. A supercomputer is not just a fast or very large
computer: it works in a completely different way, usually using parallel processing instead of serial processing,
which is used by a regular computer. A typical modern supercomputer works much more quickly by splitting
problems into chunks and working on many pieces at once, which is called parallel processing. For me, the most
obvious example of a supercomputer is deep blue. This supercomputer was able to beat the world chess champion 4
times out of 12. The supercomputer calculated all possible outcomes of the move, and found the best ones for itself.

To sum up, the computer is the greatest invention of humanity. Unfortunately, the computer cannot think, it is
only able to receive and answer questions. Therefore, he will never replace a person, but can only become a reliable
assistant to him.
