DR# 2023-07 Business Permit Extension

This resolution provides for the extension of the deadline to secure business permits and licenses through the municipality of Lupon's online Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) system until January 31, 2023. The Local Government Code allows municipalities to extend tax payment deadlines up to 6 months for justifiable reasons. The municipality of Lupon is extending the deadline to address public requests and to promote ease of doing business by providing more time for businesses to comply using the online processing system.

A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BUSINESS ONE


STOP SHOP (BOSS) USING THE ELECTRONIC BUSINESS PERMITS AND
PROCESSING SYSTEM (e-BPLS) UNTIL JANUARY 31, 2023 TO GIVE
AMPLE TIME TO THE BUSINESS PERMITTEES AND LICENSEES OF THE
HEREIN MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT.
WHEREAS, Section 167 of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local
Government Code of 1991, provides that “Unless otherwise provided in this Code, all
local taxes, fees, and charges shall be paid within the first twenty (20) days of January
or of each subsequent quarter, as the case may be. The sanggunian concerned may,
for a justifiable reason or cause, extend the time of payment of such taxes, fees, and
charges without surcharges or penalties, but only for a period not exceeding six (6)
months”;

WHEREAS, pursuant to RA 11032, otherwise known as “An Act Promoting Ease


of Doing Business and Efficient Delivery of Government Services;”

WHEREAS, the municipal government of Lupon heeds the public clamor to


extend the period to secure business permits and licenses;

WHEREFORE, premises considered the author prays for the approval of this
resolution.
