The document tells the story of a young teacher who continued teaching her economics class throughout her two year battle with cancer. Despite losing her hair and needing regular breaks for chemotherapy, she always returned to school with a smile and taught her students with determination and optimism. Her resilience and commitment to teaching despite facing cancer motivated the author greatly during their own studies.

So, as a result, she was absent from the school for about a week.

The news of her having cancer spread like wild fire in the school and everyone thought
her absence is going to be permanent now, i.e., she would leave the school for her
chemotherapy and treatment.

But..
After one week, we saw her entering our Economics class with a wide smile gracing her
face. She taught us.

When her chemo started, she just took a break for few days, came back after every
break. And she taught us.

She started losing large patches of hair and eventually, became bald. Next day, we saw
her wearing a wig. And she taught us, again.

Whenever she was compelled to take long breaks, we deduced that she was gone
forever but she came back everytime, with a smile brighter than ever, determination
unshakable and optimism so strong.

Ask her to discontinue teaching and take rest?

She'd say, "The show must go on!"

Watching her for 2 years(11th and 12th class) battling with cancer with a spirit so
invincible motivated me to the core.

If she could teach with cancer, I could surely learn without it.
And while I am writing this answer, she must be getting ready for the school, suppressing
her fears. She'll teach again today! :')
One of the best and most meaningful stories I heard was: Opportunities.

A young and poor boy approaches a seer for help. He has no money, people do not give
him employment because he is too young for that, and he does not want to beg because
he does not feel it is correct. The seer sees his condition and likes the idea that he does
not want to beg. He decides to help the boy.

An hour before the sunset, he takes the boy to the riverside. He takes him to a specific
area with many stones and pebbles around.

“One of these stones can convert any metal into Gold. I would like you to find it and use
it for the rest of your life to generate as much money as you want.”

“Oh, great one! how am I going to identify the stone?”

“It is simple. When you touch a stone, it is very hot due to Sun’s effect on it. But this
special stone would be as cold as Ice even though it is roasted in Sun just like any other
stone. You would identify it by touching it.”

There are a lot of stones around. Finding one stone out of it would not be an easy task.
Nevertheless, the boy picks up the first stone, feels it, and throws it on the other side. he
repeats the same for a few stones and realizes that the stones are all getting mixed up
and he is not able to determine which ones he has already touched. He changes his
tactics and after picking & feeling a stone, he throws it in the river.

He keeps repeating this activity every evening for an hour or two. He keeps picking up
stones one by one, feels their temperature, and throws them in the river. Days pass by,
weeks pass by, and months pass by. He becomes more and more efficient at this act.
While he could feel just a few handfuls of stones in the beginning, now he could touch &
feel hundreds of stones in a single hour.

As he continues his routine, day-after-day-after-day, he suddenly feels cold in his palms

when touching a stone. But he is in his routine motion. By the time he realizes what has
happened, his hand has already tossed the stone towards the river. He sees the stone fly
away from him plunging into the deep river.

Opportunities come by, but we are so busy in our everyday routine, we simply let them
go.

I have seen it happening to a lot of people. They suffer in their existing way of life but
keep their eyes shut to any suggestion of changes or improvement. You offer them a
genuine opportunity and they would never be willing to take the risk of attempting to
work on it. It happens in jobs, it happens in businesses, it happens in studies, it happens
in the kitchen, it happens in every walk of life, even in treatment (medicine trials for rare
cancer cases).
