Justification:
This widespread tree species is native to Burkina Faso, Benin, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central
African Republic, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea,
Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Sao Tome and Principe and Togo. It is known from
at least 750 collections, representing 610 unique occurrences. In the absence of population data, this
species was not considered under Criterion A. It has an estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) of
16,278,534 km2 and area of occupancy (AOO) of 1,224 km2. It is likely to occur in more than 10 locations.
The EOO and/or AOO exceed the thresholds for a threatened category. It is assessed here as Least
Concern.
