UX-website Deconstruct Review
I once used Priceline website to my book flights to India and found out a lot of usability issues
during booking process. Also, many of the other customers gave negative feedback on website
design and functionality. Since I myself experienced issues in the site and went through site
reviews on https://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/priceline.html website. I decided to deconstruct and
provide some recommendations for major issues in the website.
Deconstruct Website
1. Lack of consistency
Issue: Customers filling flight details are given different option during Round-trip and
One-way trip. User selecting one-way flight doesn’t been provided with additional option
checkmark to choose hotel/car which might be inconvenient for users selecting one-way
trip option as they need go into different tab to checkout hotel, car combo packages.

2. Multiple tabs and no back buttons.
Issue: when user clicks on different bits of information, for every information click in each
page different tabs gets open as user may find it difficult to jump back and forth between
tabs that can increase cognitive load. Also, Website does not provide any back-button option
within the pages.

Recommendations
1. Maintain consistency in features of websites as some of the options do not provide addi-
tional checkmarks as other options.
2. Adding related contents concise into a single page as much as possible by redesigning
site information architecture which can help user’s confusion to travel between tabs and
get lost during tab navigations.
3. Using two date picker Icons instead of one for check-in and Checkout dates.
