1.1. IMPORTANT NOTICE

WARNING
GENERAL
This user manual provides instructions for proper use of equipment and should be
considered as its integral and permanent part and must remain with the unit.

Carefully read the content of this manual before you start working on the equipment.

The working environment for this equipment is the "professional X-ray room" properly
prepared with adequate shielding for X-rays and a suitable power supply line
"dedicated" You can NOT use this equipment in buildings that have a domestic type
of mains power supply .

You can not install and use this equipment in operating theatres

The use of this equipment by unqualified and not authorized personnel is strictly
prohibited. Even if this equipment is designed and manufactured in compliance with
the most current safety standards, the X-ray emission is always a danger when the
operator is not qualified or duly informed, exposure to X-rays might cause injuries to
people.

All precautions must be taken to prevent unauthorized and unqualified personnel to

operate on the equipment as this might cause danger to himself and others.

Do not use the equipment in presence of vapors or flammable mixtures.

Avoid decanting and penetration of water and various fluids inside the equipment to
prevent the corrosion or short circuits.

Avoid, in the vicinity of the equipment, the use of other equipments not conform to the
EMC regulation.

Before activating any movement of the equipment, make sure that the patient is lying
in a correct position with legs and arms inside table-top.

During activation of the movements, the operator must pay close attention to the
patient and to other people who may be in the room. The operator must make sure
that there are no objects near the equipment that may interfere with its movements.

Operator’s-Technical Manual (M70A_9) introduction Page 2 of 6

Imago Radiology S.r.l. IMX-3B Antarix Troco

In the case of patient with thorn skin and / or injury a Biocompatible towel must be
placed between the patient and table top.

Avoid exposure to radiation in pregnant women and children under 6 years.

The equipment should not be used for purposes other than those mentioned.

Technical works on the equipment and opening of protection covers or any

intervention on any component of the equipment, should only be performed by
competent personnel, trained directly or indirectly by the manufacturer.

In case of faults or malfunctions, that can not be solved as indicated in this manual,
the authorized person must consult the manufacturer of the equipment for the
necessary and appropriate instructions.

The manufacturer disclaims any liability if the authorized personnel, during the course
of his duties, does not adhere to the requirements contained in this manual.

The manufacturer disclaims any liability arising from repairs performed by

unauthorized personnel.

It is advisable to turn off the equipment during periods of inactivity.

ALWAYS use protective gloves when handling lead counterweights.

RADIOPROTECTION

Before using the equipment, the authorized personnel must be informed about
security measures to be taken, as established by the "International Commission on
Radiological Protection" and its "National Standard".

Protect the patient from scattered radiation in the surrounding areas by means of
anti-X aprons, where necessary.

To protect the patient during radiographic exposure, always use the largest possible
focus –skin distances.

Before exposure remove any object, metallic or not unnecessary to radiographic

examination (eg, necklaces or rings worn by the patient).

The control point of the X-ray emission must be in an area protected and shielded
from radiation with an anti-X window on the equipment and loudspeakers to
communicate with the patient.

During radiographic exposures, only the patient can be present in the room. In case
you need the presence of medical staff or trained and authorized paramedics must
be present (eg, with non-cooperative patients) , they must either be provided with
protective anti X-ray clothing and must stay in Designed Zone of Occupancy as
outlined below.

Since the Column/ table-top/ bucky group can move longitudinally to explore the whole
body, the occupation zone is extended longitudinally for all the length of table top (2200
mm / 86.6”) as showed in the following “Fig-2)”:

Fig. 2) Top view

The maximum values of scattered radiation at the heights indicated in the above areas of
occupation with table in horizontal position are shown in the following "Table 1”).

Transversal centring of bucky table top (Fig.3c):

• Push the lock/unlock switch of table top transversal movement (E) and move
manually the table until the automatic centring is activated.
• Push the foot pedal (G) to release the longitudinal brake of the table top (C).
Remove your feet from the pedal to activate again the brake.
• Push again the switch (E) if you want to unlock the function of transversal centring.
In that way, when the foot pedal is pressed, you can unlock both longitudinal and
transversal movements.
