GEC 10 – English Language Proficiency

Course Description:

This 3-unit course aims for the refinement of the students’ practical English. Specifically,
it aims to improve their English language proficiency by engaging them in listening, speaking,
reading, writing, viewing and grammar learning activities that are functional, communicative and
relevant in their real-world encounters at home, in school, in the community and in their future
professional workplace locally and globally (Institutional Course).

Grading system: VPAA 5105-MEMO-2023-04-02

Assigned student activity 15%


Student engagement/forum discussion 10%
Quizzes and Unit Examination 30%
Major examinations (Midterm and Final) 45%-

Intended Learning Outcomes: (CMO 80, s. 2017)
