The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern

Depending on vehicle options some owners may have any of the following concerns:

 RKE Inoperative

 Passive Entry and Start Inoperative

 No Fob Detect Message on DIC

 Service Tire Pressure System

 No Audio

 Touch Screen Inoperative


 Radio and/or DIC display blank

 Steering Wheel Controls Inoperative

 Service Stabilitrak

 Body / Chassis Communication DTC's B3101, B144C, C0710, C0544, U1548, U1549,
U154A, U0151, U0126, U0415, U0077, U0028 and/or U0029

 Rear Power Windows Inoperative

 Rear Wiper Inoperative

 Dead Battery

 SES lamp and/or reduced power message with 5 volt reference 3 or APP codes P0106, P0107,
P0697, P2122, P2123, P2127, P2128 and P2138

These concerns could be caused by the dash harness being pinched between the left I/P dash
mounting bracket (1) and the body. Shown below, is the left I/P mounting bracket (1) as seen when
the I/P fuse block cover is removed from the end of the dash. This picture is for reference only and
the wiring must be inspected from under the dash.

As shown below, the wiring harness (2) is pinched at the upper portion of the I/P mounting bracket
(1). In many cases, the complete harness may not be pinched and it can be difficult to see that the
harness is damaged. When inspecting for a pinched harness, make sure the harness can be moved
freely away from the bracket to body interface.
As shown below, the wiring harness (3) is pinched at the lower portion of the left I/P mounting
bracket (1). For reference only, call out (4) is the parking brake pedal.
Recommendation/Instructions

To repair this concern, loosen the left I/P dash mounting bracket bolts and pull the harness free.
Open the harness and repair any damaged wires as necessary.

For wiring repairs covered under warranty, please refer to latest version of bulletin 10-00-89-005 for
warranty information on wire/connector repairs.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition
exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be
performed.
