It is one of the main shareholders of L'Oreal, the world's
largest cosmetics company. Nestlé was formed in 1905 by the merger of the
"Anglo-Swiss Milk Company", which was established in 1866 by brothers
George and Charles Page, and "Farine Lactée Henri Nestlé" founded in 1867 by
Henri Nestlé

Nestlé East and Southern Africa Region Profile

Nestlé is the world’s largest food and beverage company. It is


present in 187 countries around the world, and its 291,000 employees are
committed to Nestlé’s purpose of unlocking the power of food to enhance

In August 2018, we formed a new region known as the Nestlé East and
Southern Africa Region (ESAR), comprising of 23 countries, namely: South
Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Zambia, eSwatini,
Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Comoros, Madagascar, Seychelles, Burundi,
Rwanda, Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Malawi, South Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti.
The ESAR region employs 3 200 employees. Operationally, we have seven
Nestlé factories across ESAR, located as follows: South Africa (five), Zimbabwe
(one) and Kenya (one).

economic challenges including the triple burden of disease: obesity,
micronutrient deficiencies and undernutrition.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE :

Nestlé has a geographical divisional structure with operations


segmented into five key regions. For many years, Swiss multinational food and
drink company Nestle had a complex and decentralized matrix organizational
structure where its numerous brands and subsidiaries were free to operate
autonomously.
PRODUCT LINE :

Nestlé currently has over 2,000 brands[100][101] with a


wide range of products across a number of markets, including coffee, bottled
water, milkshakes and other beverages, breakfast cereals, infant foods,
performance and healthcare nutrition, seasonings, soups and sauces, frozen
and refrigerated foods, and pet food.[14] In 2019, the company entered the
plant-based food production business with its Incredible and Awesome Burgers
(under the Garden Gourmet and Sweet Earth brands). In 2020, Nestlé
announced additional plant-based products including soy-based bratwurst and
chorizo-like sausages.

Nestle Bar One :
The company is discontinuing certain sizes, and certain products,
but Bar One, Peppermint Crisp, Quality Street and Milky Bar are safe. However,
some products didn't make the cut. These include the Milo Bar, Bar One
Peanut, Milky Bar Peanut and Milky Bar Double. These products will be
discontinued from August.

Yorkie :

In 1966 York Chocolate was discontinued, then 10 years later in 1976


York Chocolate is re-launched under than brand name YORKIE, with its name
due to it being manufactured at our factory in YORK where it still continues to
be produced to this day.

Lion :
When you feel like a great big bite" and was soon a roaring success with
consumers.. It was first produced at the York factory in the UK before being
transferred to the Fawdon factory in Newcastle in 1978. In 1988 is was re-
branded LION® and now is available in over 40 countries worldwide.

Nestlé NANGROW is a nutritious milk drink


in a delicious, creamy vanilla flavour for growing children, aged 2 to 6 years old.
