• What do you use it for at home?
I use it on a lot of things at home. For example, in my spare time I will surf social
networks, listen to music, watch movies, learn to cook through the web and
youtube, read e-books. Besides, I also work from home to expand my knowledge.
Vocabulary

Sample sentences:
1. Do your colleagues practice netiquette at work when using the Internet?
2. My PC is on the blink again.
3. Tim is always on his computer. He is such a geek.
4. I hate this new computer system. It has so many glitches.
Let’s talk about the Internet. Let the trainer take the lead in asking you
questions. Here are some questions to get you started.
1. How important is the internet to you?
Source of study materials
The internet is a world of knowledge. It serves as a teacher, and students can
ask any questions regardless of the subject or field and get answers. Most of the
academic institutions have developed websites from where the students can
access free study materials. Students can access video tutorials and lectures at
no extra cost. They can also access learning materials from various online
libraries.
Research
Before the internet, it was very difficult for the students to conduct research as
they had to read a lot of books. The internet has a wide range of information that
both teachers and students can access at the convenience of their locations.
There are thousands of research papers and books available on the internet.
Students have access to resources published in any period because most of
them are available on internet platforms. As a student, you can find help on your
research projects by looking for answers to the projects that have already been in
done and are similar to yours.
Extremely important. I depend on it for work, research, study and entertainment, so
without it I’d be complete lost.

2. How often do you use the internet?

I use it constantly throughout the day, every day. I check my emails when I get up
in the morning, I use it for work all day and then I watch videos, read books or
listen to music through it at night.

I use the Internet constantly every day. My day starts with checking my emails after waking up and I
use it for work all day. Whenever I feel tired, the Internet again brings me to its wonderful world of
entertainment with plentiful sources of music, videos, books. Furthermore, I use it for dropping some
lines to my flesh and blood and friends in the evening.

3. What are your favorite websites?

For work my two favorite sites are WordPress and Google. WordPress is a
blogging tool that allows you to publish blogs easily and maintain a professional
looking website. Google of course allows me to find the information I need quickly
and accurately. In my spare time, I of course use Facebook like everyone else in
the world, but my favorite site is The Guardian because it allows me to keep up to
date with everything that’s happening.

Google and Daily Mail Online easily become my two most-like sites. Whenever I need to find the
information urgently and accurately, Google helps me better than any websites. About Daily Mail
Online, it is a wonderful channel of information, which brings me a plenty of informative news
because I don’t have time to listen to radio or TV. Like any young people, surfing Facebook is also
my cup of tea. It allows me keep contact with my friends, relatives and even suggests me some funny
pages to loosen up.

4. Do you use apps?

I’m a bit of an app addict. My favorite app at the moment is one called Stitcher. It
allows you to listen to podcasts and helps you discover new podcasts. You can
download them and then listen to them whenever you have time.

Yes, I use quite a few apps such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Spotify, Candy
Crush and so on. But I especially like Instagram. There are a lot of cool things,
beautiful images, I can also chat with my friends on it. If you take pictures with
this application you will have extremely quality images

5. Do you think you use the internet too much?

I think most people do these days. My problem is that there are so many sites and
apps that you end up checking them way too often and this wastes lots of time. It
can also be a bit anti-social if you are checking your phone all the time when you
are with other people.

Yes, I do. I am always on interent, either doing something related to my blog or

searching the internet for the places around me where I can travel. Other times I am on
social media, connecting with people I love or responding to people’s reviews on the
posts and the videos that I have made. So, it is kind of fun, being online and doing work
whenever you feel like.

6. How will the internet develop in the future?

I think it will be more on mobile phones than computers. Smart phones are
becoming more powerful and more affordable all the time, so I think we will see a
shift from people using the internet on desktop computers to mobiles and apps
rather than traditional websites.

I think in the future Internet will be developed on mobile phones rather than computers because of
their convenient sizes. A computer is now too big to be brought along, especially when we are
always on-the-go with this hustle life. Therefore, I think we will see a shift from people using the
internet on desktop computers to mobiles and apps rather than traditional websites. Another fact I
would think about is that Internet will be faster and cheaper in the near future. This may help people,
especially the poor, all over the world, approach the Internet and enjoy the benefits that it has
brought.

7. Are there any negative things about the internet?

Being connected all of the time is not a good thing. Before you had to sit down at
your computer and log on and that took time, so you didn’t do it so much. Now all
people have to do is look at their phone and this is too much for me. I’ve been
trying to leave my phone at home when I socialize with friends and family to stop
myself from focusing too much on the phone rather than them
Beside a lot of good things, Internet also contains many drawbacks. With internet, we can connect to
a lot of websites. However, how can we make sure that our computers are safe from virus or hackers
while surfing unfamiliar and untrusted sites? We might not acknowledge that virus and hackers are
now way more dangerous and sophisticated than before. And another negative things as I said, being
connected all of the time is not a good thing. we need to control ourselves when deciding to use the
Internet – one of the easiest addicting stuff. Now all people seem to glue their eyes to the phones and
this is too much harmful for health. People should get out of their phone when socialising with
friends and family.

Switch Roles
Let’s switch roles. Now you take the lead in asking questions and giving
your opinion. Here are some questions to get you started.
• Do you think you can get by without the Internet for a month?
The internet has become an indispensable part of our everyday life and since it became available to
the vast majority of people on this planet we spend more and more time online with every year to
come Over the time, the internet grew to an effective tool that allowed us to do a variety of things,
from educating ourselves to sharing one’s ideas with like-minded people. I believe that nowadays
you don’t need to be an internet addict to be painfully affected if the internet would break down from
one day to another. Just think about yourself and how often you turn on the computer to access the
internet when you need some important information; when you check a road-map on your
Smartphone, or glance at the latest headlines from your tablet computer. Same goes for all the
students and pupils that research online for further learning materials, the travelers that book their
tickets online and everyone else who makes use of the internet to ease his life a little bit.

• Do you think having an Internet connection at home is also a must?

I think at home there should be an internet connection so that I can take advantage of the time to do
some essential tasks and relax with songs and movies. Besides, I can call relatives when we haven't
seen each other for a long time.

• Is Internet service expensive in your country?

In Vietnam, there are many types of internet services such as Viettel, vinaphone, ... and different
prices. I can choose the level that suits my budget. Although there are many prices, the levels have
their own advantages

• How do you think life would be like right now without the Internet?
In my opinion, if life does not have internet now, it will be very boring. Although we will be slowed
down, we will not be able to update the information domestically and internationally that brings a lot
of disadvantages. I think we will not be able to work or study in an environment that lacks the
internet because the internet now plays a very important role in our lives.
• What do you usually use the Internet for?
The Internet makes it possible to quickly find information, communicate with people around the
world, manage your finances, shop from home, listen to music, watch videos, and much, much
more.

• What kind of Internet connection do you have?

Currently, I completely use Viettel's network - a major network operator in
Vietnam. I love it a lot because it gives me a great quality experience. I can use it
in many places where the network is still stable. The service price is reasonable
• What company is the biggest Internet service provider in your country?
Viettel is the preferred ISP for a large number of Vietnamese and foreigners
residing in Vietnam. Many feel that they offer better quality, although this may
largely depend on your city or even your neighborhood.
