QUESTION

Why does Error Code 70 randomly appear on the display of my SITRANS F M Transmitter?

ANSWER

All sensors are calibrated at a certain coil excitation frequency depending on type and
size. This frequency is stored in the SENSORPROM memory unit.

Error code 70 can randomly appear on the display, if the factory set coil excitation
frequency has for unknown reason changed to a higher value. The changed frequency
may also cause the measured flow values to be lower than the actual flow.

Correct the error as follows:


• Find the correct excitation frequency in the Operating Instructions of the sensor
manual or in the FI01 catalog
• Enter the correct frequency via the keypad or via PDM in the “Sensor
Characteristics” menu.
