Summary Of The Story

“Every Child Is Special”

Ishaan Awasthi is an eight-year-old boy who suffers from dyslexia, a neurological disorder. He
has trouble recognizing letters, he can hardly read and write. Letters and numbers are written
backwards, and words are often misspelled. Cannot follow multiple directions and has poor
motor skills.
Ishaan could be very unique from different kids mainly to his brother Yohaan Awasthi
who’s usually being in comparison through his father. When
Ishaan get some distance greater hassle that his dad and mom can’t manage anymore, he was
forcedly dispatched to a boarding faculty to be disciplined. But matters are no
one-of-a-kind at his new faculty as a substitute Ishaan has warfare for the introduced trauma
due to his separation from his family.
Ishaan’s situation changes when a new art teacher bursts onto the scene, Ram Shankar
Nikumbh, who infects the students with joy and optimism. He breaks all the rules of how things
are done by asking them to think out of the box, dream and imagine, and all the children
respond with enthusiasm, all except Ishaan. Nikumbh soon realizes that Ishaan is very unhappy.
He reviews Ishaan’s work and concludes that his academic shortcomings are indicative of
dyslexia.
On his day off, Nikumbh visits Ishaan’s parents and asks if he can see more of their son’s work.
Nikumbh describes dyslexia to them and explains that it is not a sign of low intelligence. He tells
them he can provide extra tutoring that will help Ishaan, highlighting the boy’s artistic ability
evident in his many paintings and other creative works. Nikumbh then visits the school’s
principal and obtains his permission to become Ishaan’s tutor. He attempts to improve Ishaan’s
reading and writing by using remedial techniques developed by dyslexia specialists; Ishaan soon
develops an interest in language and mathematics, and his grades improve. With
time, persistence and care, Ishaan Awasthi an eight-year-vintage boy who dislikes college and
fails each take a look at or exam, reveals all topics difficult, belittled through his instructors and
classmates, inner international is wealthy with wonders that he's not able to carry to others,
and with magical lands full of colour and lively animal, and an artist whose expertise is
unrecognized has already determined himself. When Ishaan’s mother and father visit the
boarding college, they may be left speechless through the transformation they noticed of
their son, Ishaan. Overcome with emotion, Ishaan’s father thank you Nikumbh for the
entirety he’d carried out for his son.
THE SEVEN LAWS OF EDUCATION
Teacher – The law of Teacher says that “ If you stop growing today, you stop teaching
tomorrow.” If you stay the same without changes it clearly indicates that there’s no learning
and if there is no learning though you can still teach, but in a monotonous way. Just like the
other teachers of Ishaan, they don’t care how the learners are doing they just keep on doing
what they are did before.
Education – The law of education teaches us to form the foremost favorable condition for self
learning. Just as Ram Shankar Nikumbh did, showing the learners that studies was exciting and
fun. Thus, motivates them to self- learning. though tension is needed for effective teaching an
excessive amount of tension could even be the rationale for frustration to the learners which
may cause stress. As teachers we are obliged in teaching them how think making them realize
that learning is not stressful. Molding them into someone who values learning and even apply it
into practical work.
Activity – The law of activity teaches us that “Maximum learning is always the result of
maximum involvement” engaging the children into different kinds of activity allows them to
learn by their own action. Activities must be well planned and is purposeful or meaningful just
as how Nikumbh uses the activities to grab Ishaan’s attention and slowly Ishaan is starting to
get involve into the activities.
Communication – In this Law it teaches us to develop commonness which will serve as our
bridge to communication with our students. “To truly impart information requires the building
of bridges.” Nikumbh did a great job into building commonness with Ishaan through the illness
of which they both possess and painting which they both loved.
Heart – Teaching that impacts is not head to head but heart to heart, clearly I can relate this
one to the other teachers who only teaches head to head. They are too focus into learning and
neglected the important part of teaching that is to connect with the students heart to heart.
Nikumbh showed us that teaching must come from the heart not just from our brain.
Encouragement – Teaching to be most effective when the learners is properly motivated.
Motivation helps you as a teacher as well as the students into elevating one’s self-esteem it
boast our appetite to learn more because there is someone who appreciate our efforts.
Nikumbh did show us that in the movie where he keeps everything that the students do valuing
their effort and appreciating their remarks.
Readiness – The teaching learning process will be most effective when both student and
teacher are adequately prepared. It relates to the teacher in the story where most of the
teachers are prepared but the children are not. In this Law it says that both the teacher and the
learners must be prepared so that each one of them will be in the same page. Thus making you
an effective teacher.
REFLECTION OF THE STORY
“Every Child Is Special

This movie teaches me many realization and idea. Realization in which gave me a
lesson to this world full of narrow head. They don’t understand a child simply
because they neither read and write nor add and subtract. As a teacher, I realize
that every child is always and always be different as the sky and the sea is
different. As I myself is different from the others and not all teacher is the same
either. Teacher like Nikhumb makes me wonder and think to be like him
someday. His character is drowning me in happiness.

Teacher must be like him. Thinking of strategies before he react to a child, he just
observe him and make a survey from the family. This is a good strategies so that
you can know and study a child better than the others. Thinking a way to face
every child in every meeting, planning a good attractive activities for them,
thinking about the goal you want to achieve for you’re students and managing the
classroom to have a friendly and lively environment for them to not feel
pressured but having a good time at the same time learn.

This is an example of a good teacher in the future. A teacher who cares, loved the
profession, enjoy every meeting with his/her student, goal-oriented and a good
planner is the one we must achieved as a future teacher. As I am a future teacher,
I must carry this with me along with my goal to the success of all the dreams of
my future students.
