Microsoft Word Assignment 1 (100 Marks) FDN1121

(Deadline: 3rd Oct 2023)


In this assignment, students are required to create a Microsoft Word Document according to the
given prototype document image. There are two folders inside the given zip folder and the folder
called “Prototype Document” contains the images of the pages of the prototype document. The
folder called “Required Images” contains the relevant images to create the word document.
The document should be created as same as the prototype document. The prototype document
contains 4 pages, they have been kept as 4 separate pages, as they are images, but the document
which is required to submit should contains all the 4 pages as a single document. Once you
complete the assignment, you need to attempt the quiz, and finally upload the assignment (word
document) to the given place of the quiz. The link to the quiz will be given at the end of this
document.
The major instructions and formatting have been given as follows and the rest of the formatting
should be done according to the given prototype document.
Instructions and formatting
Page size for the entire document is A4.
Margins should be kept as Normal.

Formatting for the Cover Page,


Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 42
Align: Center

After the cover page, first two pages are the first section of the document and should be numbered with
Roman numbers (e.g., i, ii), and the next section of the document should be numbered with Arabic
numbers (1,2)

Note: The table of content can be generated automatically, for that you need to apply the styles to the titles
of the document using the "Styles" group of the home tab. After that, in order to generate the table of
content, you need to go through the "References" tab and click on the "Table of Contents" button and select
the suitable built-in design from the given menu.
"Contents" – Heading 1 Style (see the formatting for the heading 1 at the end of the document)

All the required images will be given to create the document, and note that captions for the images can be
added by right clicking (right click -> insert caption) on the image once you add the image to the word
document.
Rest of the formatting should be done by yourself according to the given prototype document to create the
document.

Important
40% of the Marks from the assignments are added to the final examination. In
order to pass the examination students should be able to obtain the minimum
30% of the marks for the final examination and also the minimum 30% of the
marks for the assignments.
How to Submit

Rename your word document file with your index number.


Upload your word file to the given link on or before the given deadline.
