1. Look at the walls of the classroom. What are posted on the walls? What heroes, religious
figures, lessons, visual aids, announcements, do you see posted?

2. Examine how the pieces of furniture are arranged. Where is the teacher’s table located?
How are the tables and chair/s desks arranged?

3. What learning material/equipment are present?

4. Observe the students. How many are occupying one room?

5. Is the room well-lit and well-ventilated?

When I went into different classrooms at the school, there were no pictures
or decorations on the walls. This is because the school follows a rule from the
Department of Education (DepEd), called DepEd Order No. 21, s. 2023. This rule
says that classrooms should be plain, with no extra pictures, signs, or posters on
the walls. This helps students stay focused on their lessons.

There are two tables in each classroom – one designated for the adviser and
the other for subject teachers. The location of adviser’s tables varies from
classroom to classroom; some have them positioned in the front corner side,
others at the back, and some in the left corner side. For subject teachers is
consistently situated at the front, often near the chalkboard.

The classroom is equipped with various learning materials and equipment.

This may include textbooks, workbooks, and writing supplies. As I entered
different classrooms, I observed that the number of students occupying one room
can vary, but typically, each classroom is designed to accommodate around 45 to
50 students. The quality of lighting and ventilation in the classrooms also varies.
Some classrooms are designed to be well-lit with natural or artificial lighting and
have proper ventilation, ensuring a comfortable and conducive learning
environment.

ANALYZE

1. How do school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the student’s going to school?
What are your conclusions?
The impact of the school campus on learning, with a specific focus on the classroom environment, is
evident in several key aspects. Firstly, the adherence to DepEd's policy of minimal wall displays and
decorations creates a clean and distraction-free aesthetic, fostering student focus and concentration. Secondly,
the arrangement of classroom furniture is conducive to interactive learning, accommodating various teaching
methods and catering to the diverse learning needs of students. Additionally, the presence of sufficient learning
materials and visual aids within the classroom supports effective teaching and learning, although the condition
of some materials may need improvement. Lastly, the provision of well-maintained comfort rooms and
accessible bookshelves enhances the overall learning experience by ensuring student convenience and comfort.
Overall, the school campus, particularly the classroom, plays a pivotal role in creating an environment that
positively influences student engagement, learning, and overall educational outcomes.
2. How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How does this relate to your
knowledge of facilitating learning?
The school campus and classroom observations closely align with my understanding of child and
adolescent development. A clean and organized classroom supports cognitive development by providing a
focused learning environment. The arrangement of classroom furniture encourages social interaction, which is
crucial for social development. Additionally, a comfortable classroom contributes to emotional well-being, an
essential aspect of healthy development. These observations highlight the pivotal role of the learning
environment in nurturing holistic growth in children and adolescents, encompassing cognitive, social, and
emotional dimensions. these observations underscore the importance of a well-equipped and well-maintained
classroom in facilitating effective teaching and learning. The learning environment plays a pivotal role in
promoting student engagement, active participation, and successful educational outcomes, aligning with the
principles of effective teaching and learning that I have learned.

REFLECT

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not?
Yes, I would like to teach in the school environment I just observed. The school's commitment to
professionalism, well-maintained offices, and organized facilities creates an atmosphere conducive to
effective teaching and learning. While there are areas for improvement, these challenges can be
addressed with effort and creativity. Overall, the positive aspects, including well-equipped classrooms
and supportive facilities, align with my teaching philosophy, making this school an appealing
environment to contribute to students' education and development.

2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?

A conducive school campus for learning prioritizes safety, well-maintained facilities, access to
resources, comfortable learning spaces, supportive staff, inclusivity, and an engaging curriculum. It
values diversity, involves the community, integrates technology effectively, and adapts to evolving
needs. Such an environment fosters student engagement and academic growth, promoting a lifelong love
for learning.

3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?

A classroom that's good for learning is comfortable and well-organized. It has good lighting and
air, and not too many distractions. Teachers use things like whiteboards and projectors to make lessons
interesting. Students can easily get books and materials they need. The seats can be moved around for
different activities, and everyone feels included. Teachers are supportive and create a friendly
atmosphere. They manage the class well, and the lessons are interesting and fit with what students like
and need. This kind of classroom helps students learn better and enjoy learning.

4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?

In the future, I can make a good classroom for learning by making sure the seats are comfortable
and the room is tidy. I'll keep the lights and air just right. I'll use fun things like whiteboards and videos
to help with lessons, and I'll have books and stuff easy to get. I'll let students move their seats for
different activities and be kind to everyone. I'll make sure everyone can learn, no matter their needs.
We'll work together and have a happy classroom where everyone feels safe and respected. I'll keep
things organized and listen to what my students like and need in their lessons. That way, learning will be
fun and easy for everyone.

5. Write your additional learnings and insights here.

From what I've learned, making a good place for learning involves following important rules,
like keeping classrooms simple and not too decorated. But it's not just about how it looks; it's about how
students feel and learn. Teachers play a big role in making it a nice place. They should use interesting
tools, manage the class well, and be kind to students. Everyone should feel like they belong, no matter
what they need. And it's not a one-time thing; we should keep trying to make it better, listen to students,
and be open to change. That way, learning will be more fun and better for everyone.
