LESSON PLAN IN KINDERGARTEN


Quarter 3, Week 7

I. Learning Objective/s:
At the end of 40-minutes discussion, the Kindergarten-Coralat pupils
will be able to do the following with at least 80% level of proficiency;
a. add 1-digit number; (MKSC-00-12)
b. count numbers using concrete objects; (MKC-00-7)
c. Appreciate the activities by participating.

A. Content Standard:
The child demonstrates an understanding of concepts of size, length, weight,
time, and money

B. Performance standard:
The child shall be able to use arbitrary measuring tools/means to determine
size, length, weight of things around him/her, time (including his/her own
schedule)

C. Lesson Integration: Numeracy and literacy

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: One to One Correspondence 6-10 (simple addition)
Reference: Capsulized Self-Learning Empowerment Toolkit
Materials: Visual aids, worksheet, incentive chart, Popsicle sticks, solving
sheets

1. Greetings
Good Morning Children! (Good Morning Teacher Rose!) Okay,
everybody please stand up for our opening prayer. Let us check
the attendance first before we are going to proceed with our
lesson. By the way, are you ready for our discussion? (Yes
Teacher!) Very Good! Before that, what will you do if your
teacher is discussing in front? Yes anybody? (Listen) okay very
good! What else? (Sit properly) okay that is correct. Now, how
about if you want to answer my question? (Raise our right
hand) Okay good! Now, let me see if you are ready. Sit
properly and we will sing action song called “I love numbers”

Number one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight nine ten
I love numbers I love numbers one to ten one to ten.
2. Motivation (indicator#3 applied range of teaching)( indicator #4
manage classroom structure) (indicator #6 used differentiated
developmental approach)

Class what’s on the table? (Egg) Where do you think the egg came
from? (Chicken) are you sure? (Yes) _____ Can you help me check
where the egg really came from? (Uncovering the box) very good, the
chicken was the one who laid the eggs.
Class do you want to play? We will call our game “EGGcellent”. Do you
know that this chicken can see you and it is just observing you? Every time
you do good, behave and participates the chicken will lay an egg and you can
get the egg. So you better be good because the chicken can see you. --- At
the end of our class who among you will have the most number of eggs will
win and will get this gift. Do you want to know what’s inside this gift? (Yes
teacher) Therefore, you better behave and let’s get started.

B. Presentation
1. Modeling(indicator #2 used a range of teaching strategies that
enhance learner literacy and numeracy skills)(indicator #1 applied
knowledge of content across teaching curriculum)

“I have two aquariums; first aquarium has 5 fishes while second


aquarium has 4 fishes. How many fishes in all?

Okay now I have here an object. What do you call this object? (Stone)
what are the different colors of the stone? (Green, black, blue and white)
If I have here two black stone and another two blue stone and I am going
to put them together how many in all? (Four stone) very good!

What did we do whn we put all objects together? (We are doing
addition) very good!

Okay another object if I have five bottle caps in my right hand and 3 in
my left hand how many in all? (You have eight bottle caps) very good!
What is Addition? Putting everything together. The sign used for addition
is called plus (+) let us spell addition.

Now I have the steps in adding 1-digit number.


Step 1: Write the numbers in vertical or horizontal arrangements.

Let’s have an activity called “FUNdition” I have a dice, roll the dice to get
the given numbers (ask representative to roll the dice. Roll the dice twice.)
Then use this Popsicle sticks to add the given.

2. Independent Practice
We will have one more activity. “Spider Addition” Count all the spiders
in each color then add. (Each pupil will be given worksheets, after they
finished answering the will exchange papers).
C. Generalization
What do we do when we add? (When put things together, we do addition.)
What do you call the sign for addition? (The sign used for addition is called plus
(+)) what is the importance of addition? Addition can be use in your daily life
when you are going to buy something in the store you can use addition by adding
your money together and it will help you to pay the exact amount.

D. Application
Directions: count and find the sum.
