NotaMuff BOM

This document contains parts lists for six different versions of a guitar effects pedal called NotaMuff. It lists the resistor, capacitor, diode, transistor, and potentiometer values used in each version. It also notes that lower gain transistors like the 2N3904 are now thought to better match the sound of early Big Muff pedals compared to higher gain transistors typically used in more modern clones. Schematic and enclosure drilling templates are included.

*The original Elk Sustainer used PNP transistors. For the last few decades, the rule of thumb with BMP-
style circuits and their transistors was to use medium to high hFE transistors, like the 2N5088, BC549C,
etc. However, recently that school of thought has started to change. Low to medium gain transistors are
now thought to be what gave early Big Muffs their signature sound (think Gilmore). Good subs to try out
are the 2N2222, 2N3904, 2N5550.
