Administration for Digit Span: Digit Span Forwards Say: I am going to say some numbers.

Listen carefully and when I am through, say them right after me. Just say what I say. Administer Trial 1 and Trial 2 of each item. Proceed to the next item if the discontinue criterion has not been met. Remember to administer Digit Span Backwards regardless of the childs performance on Digit Span Forwards. Digit Span Backwards Trial 1 Say: Now I am going to say some more numbers. But this time when I stop, I want you to say them backwards. If I say 8 2 you would say [Correct Response: 2 - 8], Say: Thats right. Proceed to trial 2 If an incorrect response Say: Thats not quite right. I said 8 2, so to say it backwards, you should say 2 8. Lets try again: 8 2. [Correct Response: 2 - 8], Say: Thats right. Proceed to trial 2 Incorrect response: Say: Thats not quite right. I said 8 2, so to say it backwards, you should say 2 8. Proceed to trial 2

Trial 2 Say: Lets try these numbers. Remember, you are to say them backwards: 5 6. Correct response: (6 5): Say: Thats right. Proceed to Trial 1 of item 1
