PRESENTER:
Good night brothers! The New World Marriage Encounter Movement welcomes you most cordially!
In these moments we will begin our "Live Stations of the Cross" performed by the children of our little schools.
Where we will accompany Jesus in the process prior to his death. We ask then that you accompany us in each of
the stations by praying, walking and meditating in silence when we have to do so. Brothers, we do not want you
to interpret this Live Stations of the Cross as mere theater. It is not to detail the clothing, the expressions, the
scenery, but so that within ourselves, we meditate seriously on our commitment of life with Christ our Savior,
and with our own brothers, who many of them live the repetition of the way of the cross and we let them pass
before our eyes without wanting to realize it.
So the team of Mundo Nuevo Encuentro Matrimonial, asks you to follow the proper order in each of these
stations that the children will perform, let us meditate and live this Stations of the Cross. Welcome.
STAGE PREPARATION:
SUPPORT YOUTH WILL CORDON OFF THE STAGE AREA TO PREVENT PEOPLE FROM GOING ON STAGE.
PRIMERSTATIONSTATION
"J e s u s e s e s c o n d e n d e n t a t e d t o m u e r t h "
Note:
All the actors have to be in the station that corresponds to them. It starts from the interrogation with Pilate.
NARRATOR 1: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. +
NARRATOR 1: FIRST STATION: JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH.
NARRATOR 2: "We adore you Lord and we bless you that by your holy cross you redeemed the world and my sinner".
Narrator 1: When morning came, the chief priests and the Jewish authorities held a meeting to see how to kill Jesus.
Then they bound him and led him away to hand him over to Pilate, who was the governor at that time. Jesus appeared
before him, and he asked him:
- JESUS: You say that on your own or because you have been told.
- ANAS: We havefound that this man stirs up the people, says that we should not pay tax to Caesar and pretends to
be the King sent by God!
- PILATO: Don't you answer anything?...look how many things they accuse you of?
- CAIFÁS: Yes! This man is an imposter! He is teaching the entire country of the Jews and revolting the
people! It started in Galilee and has reached here!
NARRATOR 1: From then on, Pilate was looking for a way to set him free; on the occasion of the Passover he had to
release a prisoner. There was a man named Barabbas, who had been imprisoned for some riots and murders in
Jerusalem.
Note: At this moment Barabbas prepares to leave, guarded by a soldier.
- PILATO: Bring Barrabas and place him in front of the people for them to choose!
- PILATO: Who do you want me to set free? To Jesus called Christ or Barabbas (pointing to each of them)
- BARRABAS: You have freed me from this condemnation... (Pushes him) and leaves shouting: Free! ¡ ! I am Free!
- PILATO: I see no crime in this man. What wrong has this man done?
That is why I will have him flogged and then set him free (Addressing the people).
NOTE: Then Pilate took Jesus and ordered him to be scourged, while his wife comes to him and says:
- PILATOS' WIFE: Look... don't mess with that man, because of him I have had very strong dreams tonight.
Note: Then the flagellation is performed (a place is found where the flagellation takes place), at the end of the
flagellation the narrator says:.
NARRATOR 1: Then the soldiers seize Jesus, and began to mock him, they begin to beat him (pause...), they place a
crown of thorns on his head (pause...a soldier puts it on him), they also place a red cloak on him (pause...and put it on
him), and begin to tell him:
Note: He brings him again before Pilate and presents him to the people saying:
- PUEBLO: Get out! Get out! Crucify him! Crucify him! Crucify him!
NOTE: A soldier approaches, carrying water to Pilate, who washes his hands before the people and says:
- PILATO: I am not responsible for the blood that will be spilled; it is up to you.
NOTE: At this point all actors bow their faces as they reflect and pray.
NARRATOR 2:
It had to happen like this! You had said many things, you had done many things that we men didn't like! Don't think you
were going to escape from our hands. You had called us Pharisees and a race of vipers. You called the poor blessed^ you
said that it was difficult for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. You said that it was not lawful to lust after our
neighbor's wife. You said we had to love our enemies. You did and said many things that did not please the powerful. You
were a friend of the poor, of foreigners, of widows. You didn't ask for a recommendation, an influence, you didn't flatter
anyone.
It had to happen! The world had to condemn you. You were condemned then and we would condemn you now! We are
condemning you every day! For we want neither your commandments, nor your advice^ nor your sacrifice, nor your
style. It had to happen this way, My Jesus!
SESSTATIONSESSTATION
"J e s s u s c a r g a c o n c r u z "
Note:
All the actors have to be in the station that corresponds to them. It continues after Pilate's condemnation of Jesus who withdraws.
Note: Both the cross of Jesus and the thieves must be ready at the station.
Note: A soldier goes to bring her .... puts the cross on him and the soldiers begin to mock him saying:
- SOLDIER 3: Do you want us to help you with that wood? (He continues to mock and laugh)
- SOLDIER 4: With this cross he won't even make it to Golgotha! (they all push him together and start hitting him
and
tell him to walk brusquely)
NARRATOR: They seized Jesus, he himself was carrying the cross. Accompanying him were two malefactors, who were
also to be crucified.
- SOLDIER 1: Bring in the two evildoers! (they bring them and place them behind Jesus)
At this point everyone moves forward slowly while reflection and prayer is given.
TERCERATIONTERCERATION
"J e s s u s c a e p o r p r i m e r y time".
Note:
Narrator 1 announces the first fall of Jesus. At the announcement Jesus falls. And he remains prostrate on the ground. As
narrator 2 prays the sinful self.
- SOLDIER 1: He can't hold his King anymore!...he's fallen down (looking at the people and laughing).
- SOLDIER 2: This one was just an impostor...look at his weakness (he continues laughing).
NOTE: Jesus remains prostrate on the ground while the others by gestures mock. Reflection and prayer are made.
NARRATOR 2: He had fallen from sheer fatigue, He had wanted to accept the human condition totally, He was God, and
He had also wanted to become man, so as to know the fatigue, the weakness of the body.
He accepted that he was God, and that he humbled himself for us, he accepted to be mocked, for love of man, for love of
you and me, that is why he falls so that you may rise.
Note: After the reflection Jesus slowly gets up, and a soldier says:
- SOLDIER 3 AND 4: Look....ése your king is getting up...we can help him (and they all start pushing him).
Note: The Stations of the Cross continue and Narrator 1 announces the fourth station.
WHATSTATESSTATION
"J e s u s e s i n c u e n t r a t i o n t o h i s S a n t i s s i m M a d r e M a r i a".
Note: The one who personifies Mary is two meters from the station; Magdalena and John are next to her.
When the station is announced she runs out, crying and shouting: (She is followed by Magdalena and Juan).
- MARY: Son here I am .... What a great pain to see you like this...(and falls at his feet crying) my beloved child.
- JESUS: Mother...my Mother...I have to do the will of my Father .... Mother....Today I am making new things...
(slowly)
NOTE: the scene of mother and Son is contemplated, reflection is made and prayer is said.
NARRATOR 2: Because sheis mother Mary, she suffers deeply! Nevertheless, she responds now as she responded then,
at the Annunciation: "Let it be done to me according to your word". In this way, maternally, she carries and embraces the
cross together with the divine Condemned One. showing us also how we should embrace it. On the way to the cross,
Mary manifests herself as Mother of the Redeemer of the world. "You, all you who pass by on the road, look and see if
there is any sorrow like the sorrow that torments me" (Lm 1:12).
It is the Sorrowful Mother who speaks, the obedient Handmaid to the end Mother of Christ...Our Mother.
Note: At the end of the reflection, John and Magdalene approach, lift her up and place the three of them behind Jesus.
Jesus continues to walk with the cross. The fifth season is announced.
QUINTASSTATION
"Si m món d e C i re ne ayu da Jes ús a carga r con l ru z."
NOTE: IN THIS SCENE THE GROUP OF WOMEN AND SIMON OF CYRENE ARE ALREADY WITH THEM. MORE PEOPLE FROM THE TOWN
MAY BE WITH THEM, BUT THEY ARE WAITING FOR JESUS TO ARRIVE THERE.
Note: Arriving at the station, seeing the tiredness of Jesus, a soldier says to him, approaching Simon of Cyrene:
- SOLDIER 1: This condemned man can no longer carry the cross by himself, we don't want him to die before us.
That's why you will help him
- SIMON: I can't, it's none of my business... I have nothing to do with this condemned man, ask someone else.
- WOMEN: Yes... help him... this man is an innocent... (All... at the end of the reflection they leave immediately)
for the next season)
- SOLDIER 1: I TELL YOU TO HELP HIM!...(grabs him and forces him to take the cross)
- SIMON: All right... but I will tell you that I have nothing to do with this man, I am innocent of carrying the cross of
a condemned man (takes the cross of Jesus).
Note: Simon carries the Cross and they slowly walk the way of the cross, while the reflection is read and prayed.
NARRATOR 2: I didn't want to. Of course not. He was like one of us. We do not want to carry the cross. Simon was forced
to carry it. The Cross is something inexorable, something that we will find in any path of our life......He grabbed the wood
with disgust. However, little by little - I didn't know why - his hand began to caress, to squeeze that wood. There was
something about that wood.................................................................................................................There was a moment,
in an effort, when the hand of Jesus, in wanting to grasp the Cross, caught underneath that of Simon, and raised both his
arm and the Cross. Simon understood in an instant what is so difficult for us: that it is Christ who carries his Cross and a
large part of ours. Why did you, Jesus, want to have need of Simon? You wanted to have need of men even to carry the
Cross, to make us redeemers with You. To tell us that our crosses are redemptive, they are an extension of your Cross. To
tell us that we men must help each other to carry our crosses. On the road of life, at my side, many human beings march
who sometimes cannot carry their Cross. You put them there for me to give them a hand................And it was you
yourself who passed so many times with the Cross on your shoulders through all the streets of the world.
SEXTATESSTATION

IN THIS SCENARIO.... (Actors to participate in order of appearance)
1- Jesus with Simon of Cyrene carrying the cross 4- 5 women
2- 4 Roman soldiers assaulting Jesus 5- Veronica
3- The two thieves
Note: The one who personifies Veronica is two meters away from the station along with the other women.
When the station is announced they leave running and crying, leading Veronica...when they reach Jesus she says:
- VERONICA: Lord...my Lord...allow me to wipe your beautiful face with my cloth... (Sobbing and slowly).
Note: He wipes the face...turns around...sees it...shows it to the women and the people and says:
- VERONICA: Look...look...she has left her beautiful face impregnated in my cloth! It's a miracle...a miracle....
- WOMEN: It is a miracle... a great miracle... (They all fall weeping at Jesus' feet).
- SOLDIER 1: Follow your Path! (Pushes the woman away)
NOTE: They stand in admiration and Jesus with Simon of Cyrene continue walking to the next station while the
reflection is read and prayed.
(REFLECTIVE MUSIC)
NARRATOR 2: The Redeemer of the world gives Veronica an authentic image of his face. Acts of love do not pass. Every
gesture of kindness, understanding and service leaves an indelible mark in the heart of man, which makes him a little
more like the One who "emptied himself, taking the form of a servant".
Note: At the end of the reflection, the women go to the eighth station where they will have the other participation...
except for Veronica who accompanies Mary.
SEPTIMASESSTATION
"J e s s u s c a e e p o r s e g u e n d a t e d s e s s s e s s s i o n a l "
IN THIS SCENARIO.... (Actors to participate in order of appearance)
1- Jesus with Simon of Cyrene carrying the cross
2- 4 Roman soldiers assaulting Jesus
3- The two thieves

- SOLDIER 1: Look at the one who is called the King of the Jews. ...Look at him, he is no longer strong (looking at
the people).
- SOLDIER 2: Get up, or do you want us to help you?
- SOLDIER 3 What! Help this one... you're crazy...(He starts hitting him and telling him to get up.)
NOTE: all remain silent, contemplating the scene and the Reflection and Prayer is made.
(REFLECTIVE MUSIC)
NARRATOR 2: However, it was our ailments that he bore, it was our pains that weighed him down. We believed him to
be scourged by God, punished and humiliated, and it was our faults for which he was destroyed, our sins for which he
was crushed. "He bore the chastisement that brings us peace and by his stripes we have been healed."
NARRATOR 1: Sir, I sinned...
NARRATOR 2: Have pity and mercy on me.
NARRATOR 1 AND 2: Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory to the Father...
OCTAVEESTATION
"J e s u s e s e n c o n c e n t r a t e d t o t h e p i a s e s a s M u j e r s".
IN THIS SCENARIO.... (Actors to participate in order of appearance)
1- Jesus with Simon of Cyrene carrying the cross
2- 4 Roman soldiers who attack Jesus
3- The two thieves
4- 5 Women
Note: Two blocks from the station are all women. When the station is announced they run out crying and saying:
- JESUS: Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children; for it will be
said:
Happy childless mothers who did not give birth or breastfeed! Then it will be said: May the hills fall on us! If only
the hills could hide us! Because if this is how they treat the green tree, what will they do with the dry tree?
(REFLECTIVE MUSIC)
Note: At the end of the reflection the soldiers approach and forcibly lift them up, they run off to the next station... then
they join the Way of the Cross.
NOVENASSESSTATION
"J e s s u s c a e p o r t e r c e r a v e r".
Note: When Jesus arrives he falls, then the station is announced. (The soldiers begin to beat and mock him).
IN THIS SCENARIO.... (Actors to participate in order of appearance)
1- Jesus with Simon of Cyrene carrying the cross
2- 4 Roman soldiers who attack Jesus, The two thieves, L a Samaritan woman.
- Soldier 1: What! look, it's his third fall, he can't take it anymore...(mocks)
- Soldier 2: And his name is Rey... look at him, he's so weak... get up quickly... we'll be here soon (hits him).
(REFLECTIVE MUSIC)
Narrator 2: Has he died? Not Christ! You can't die there! You have to die on top! Nailed to a cross, you have to make
redemption by suffering more, much more! This is the reason why Christ will not let Himself die there.
A supreme effort of will: will to go on living, to suffer more. Christ, if you had let yourself die there, in the third fall, it
would still have been a glorious death^ all men would have thanked you for having suffered for us And it would
have been enough, Christ, for you to have had an immense fame...and if you had been spared from dying nailed. The
best among us often do this, Christ: they struggle for some time, but soon a day comes when they say they have done
enough. That's enough^ now it's their turn to rest.
We..............we are even less than them: we stay on the ground after the first or second fall. We, the lazy, the tired of all
times. Those of us who lie in the mud of our sins, in the mud of our pessimism, in the mud of our laziness. Rise up Christ
so that we may know that with you we can all rise up: the sinners of all our lives, the desperate, the lazy, the
pessimists.......................................................................................................................................We can go all the way,
Christ! We can!!!.
Note: Here comes the Samaritan woman and offers him some of her water.
Note: At the end Jesus stands up and the soldiers begin to insult and mock him.
DECIMASESSTATION
"J e s s u s e s d e s p o n s i b l e f o r t h e i r v e s t i d u r e s."
NOTE: It is at this moment when they arrive at the station, Jesus falls Simon of Cyrene as he can drops the cross on the
spot, a soldier forces him to leave the place, then Jesus stands up, and they begin to remove his tunic.
- SOLDIER 1: Look, I have here what this condemned man used to use.
Note: Then the soldier begins to give one the sandals .... to another the cloak.... but when he gets to the robe he says:
NOTE: The soldiers began to draw lots for Jesus' tunic. They remain like this while reflection and prayer are made.
(REFLECTIVE MUSIC)
NARRATOR 2: Christ Jesus is also the image of all those who are stripped... stripped of their honor, their dignity as a
person, their jobs or any other circumstance. He is the sign of the marginalized, of those who do not count in society, of
those deprived of the powerful countries, and who have no one for them.
DECIMAPRIMERSTATIONSTATION
"J e s s u s e s s c l a v e i n t h e c r u z "
IN THIS SCENARIO.... (Actors to participate in order of appearance)
1- Jesus
2- 4 Roman soldiers attacking Jesus
3- The two thieves
4- Anas and Caiaphas
5- Mary mother of Jesus
6- John and Mary Magdalene.
Note: The station is announced, the crucifixion is performed, the cross is raised and the space where it will be set up.
NARRATOR 1: While they were crucifying him the people were there watching...(waits for them to bring up the cross and
then says) The chief priests, chief of the Jews and the teachers of the law, mocked him saying:
- ANAS: Wow! You who destroy the Temple and raise it up again in three, yes, you are the Son of God, free yourself
from torture and come down from the cross.
- ANAS: Let the King of Israel come down from the cross and we will believe in him.
- CAIPHAS: He has put his trust in God, if God loves him as he says, may he save him. For he himself said: "I am the
Son of God" (HE LAUGHS).
Narrator 1: And as the blasphemies and the insults were greater, the voice of Jesus was heard from the top of the tree,
looking up to heaven with imploring eyes, and forgetting his torments, he said with infinite tenderness:
- JESUS: "FATHER, FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO" (SHOUTS LOUDLY)
- THIEF GESTAS: That you did not call yourself the Son of God, then save yourself, and save us also.
- THIEF DIMAS: You have no fear of God, you who are in the same ordeal, we do deserve this condemnation and
pay for what we have done, but this man has done nothing wrong. Jesus... Jesus remember me when you enter
into your Kingdom... (Looking at Jesus and slowly)
- NOTE: Mary and John approach the foot of the cross. And Maria says:
NARRATOR 2: Your open hands Christ, more open than ever to forgive. Your feet still, Christ, stiller than ever so that we
may always find you. Your body Christ, which fits so wonderfully to the cross, made by God in the form of a cross,
destined for the Cross. Your body and the bodies of all of us, amazingly manufactured in the form of a Cross, with divine
destiny that we embrace it. The cross that is our company and our triumph. The cross for which we are made^ the cross
from which we flee like fools. By your nailed and open hands, by mine light, sensual, skillful for injustice, closed to hate
and strike. Forgive us Lord, for we already knew what we were doing. For your still, stitched and bloody feet, for mine
that have run through so many tortuous paths, for my feet stained with the mud of life. Forgive us, Lord, for we already
knew what we were doing. Forgive us Christ, who already knew what it was to sin^ even though we knew what it was to
nail you by hands and feet, even though we knew what it was to have you hang between heaven and earth for three
hours of torment. Forgive us Lord. Even if we knew what we were doing!
Note: At the end of the reflection Mary and John move a little away from the cross.

1- Jesus
2- 4 Roman soldiers assaulting Jesus
3- The two thieves
4- Anas and Caiaphas
5- Mary mother of Jesus
6- John and Mary Magdalene.
NARRATOR 1: From noon until three o'clock in the afternoon, the whole region was covered with darkness. Jesus with
imponderable anguish raised His head, set His almost lightless gaze on the sky, and with a great voice, echo of all
sorrows; He exclaimed with infinite bitterness:
NARRATOR 1: After this, when Jesus knew that all things were accomplished, he said:
NARRATOR 1: There was there a jar full of sweet and sour wine; then a soldier, taking a sponge, soaked it in wine and
putting it on the end of the reed, gave him to drink; but Jesus did not taste it.
Note: When the narrator says this, a soldier says it at the same time.
NARRATOR 2: Jesus. I was there two thousand years ago. It was I who led you to Annas and Caiaphas, to Herod and
Pilate, to the scourging and the crown of thorns, to the cross and to death. It was me, Jesus. They were my sins of
yesterday and today and always. I prepared this parade of blood and death for you. This Way of the Cross. I have trod
this path behind You, shouting and laughing. I have stepped on the blood that You left behind^ I have stepped on the
sweat, the little pieces of skin that the earth tore off in your falls. Jesus weighs on me.
DECIMATERCERATIONSTATESTATION

Note: At the end of the narrator Mary approaches and contemplates the body of Jesus while he is on the cross. Then the
song is sung: "THE DIARY OF MARY" When the song is in the second stanza Joseph of Arimathea approaches together
with Nicodemus to make the descent. They give it to Mary...then the disciple John approaches with Magdalene...and
then the other women, so that they form a crescent before the people (all this in a leisurely manner) then the narrator
says:
NARRATOR 2: Dead, Jesus to whom the Mother gave life! ! Cold to those who gave warmth! Closed those eyes in which
he looked at her with tenderness, and frozen those lips whose first smiles were for her, whose first words she guessed
and that so many times told her "Mother! No longer beating that heart that beat against her breast, feeling in her soul
the life that she herself had given it.
Who can measure the pain of a mother who holds in her arms the Son of her womb dead?
DECIMACUARTEDESTATION
"J e s u s e s c o l l o c a t e d i n t h e S a n t o S e p u l c r o "
Note: At the same time the narrator says this, it is being done. They take the body of Jesus to the temple, together with
the two evildoers behind, then the rest of the characters follow him, and when they enter, the doors of the temple are
closed so that the people do not enter.
NARRATOR 2: It was the day of preparation for the Passover and the Sabbath was about to begin. Then the women who
had come with Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph to the tomb to see how his body was laid. Then they returned to their
homes to prepare ointments and perfumes, and on the Sabbath day they fulfilled the rest commanded by the Law.
Note: The "Way of the Cross" ends with a brief kerygmatic message and the final prayer.
