ABSTRACT

The readiness of pre-service teachers is essential to each practice teacher. It is one of the
fundamental ways to be a more effective teacher in the near future. Thus, this study
aimed to determine the relationship between the expertise of teaching approach and
academic performance to the readiness of pre-service teachers' in internships. A total of
130 pre-service teachers of Philippine Advent College were chosen using simple random
sampling. This study employed a descriptive-correlational design. A modified
questionnaire about the internship readiness of pre-service teachers and teaching
approach and academic performance was used. The readiness of pre-service teacher's
questionnaire was used to determine the pre-service teachers' readiness for internships.
The data were analyzed statistically using the Mean, Standard Deviation, and Pearson
Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The findings of the study revealed that the
internship readiness of pre-service teachers using teaching approaches or strategies of
teaching was slightly satisfactory. Readiness of pre-service and academic performance
showed highly significant. It is recommended that further study should be conducted.
